Not familiar with the Kuzma stuff but if it's good enough for Ken it's very good indeed. DeVore speakers are at the top of my list based solely on reviews and comments from folks whose opinions mean a lot to me---I have yet to hear a pair. Shindo? I aspire to be worthy. And, I found it telling you mentioned McIntosh in the same breath you did Shindo and Audio Note. Good stuff, Ken!

Thanks so much for sharing your gear Ken. I think you and I go for the same type of sound - natural, neutral with a touch of warmth that tubes often provide. I'm in the market for speakers and just got back from AXPONA. I was hoping someone would be running the O/93s but it seemed I was out of luck and there are no dealers close to me. I really like the sound of the Spendor D7 and I was wondering how you may feel it compares with the O/93. I will eventually find a place to demo the Devore but was curious on your take for perspective.

Thanks for quick feedback/response Ken. I actually did read your review of the A7s. I was curious if you’ve also heard the D7s which are priced perhaps $2K different from the O/93s. I realize in the end I need to hear them for myself but your reflections are welcome and helpful.

Thanks for the tour, Ken. Always enjoy your S'phile reviews, and it helps to have a picture of where the magic happens. I'm thinking about a new phono pre to replace my Wrightsound 100 that's getting long in the tooth. The Luxman looks like a winner. Could you do a quick vid on that unit's qualities if you have a chance? You can't be a vinyl lover, jazz or otherwise, without a phono pre for your LPs, after all..

Excellent video, Ken. Beautiful system you’ve got there. That Kuzma deck is awesome, and a steal at $2K! I’m a vinyl guy also, and am kind of ashamed I never payed attention to that Luxman phono pre. It’s tube based, and I love how you can adjust the capacitance and impedance via potentiometers on the front panel. It’s cool that you can adjust the capacitance from 30K to 100K for MM, MI, or HOMC carts, cuz even though the manufacturer may recommend 47K, that’s not always the optimal setting for any of the cart types I just mentioned. Are they able to be adjusted in real time on the fly? I was going to buy a Manley Chinook, but you may have just changed my mind. Thanks for the great vid, Ken! 🎶🔊🙂

Wonder why you have chosen the DeVore Orangutan O93 over the O96? I heard the O96’s at the 2019 hifi show show here in Copenhagen driven by a Kondo Overture integrated amp. It sounded superlative. Best at the show. So basically I am wondering do you prefer the sound of the Orangutan 93 over the 96, or do you just feel that the extra expense is not worth it?

Hi Ken, how tricky is it to set up that turntable? Is that tonearm a unipivot? I love they way the turntable looks!
@kenmicallefjazzvinylaudiop64555 жыл бұрын
Yes, unipivot. Pain in the BUTT to setup because the two weights are used to both set azimuth and tracking force. And the headshell isn't detachable and the area to which the cartridge screws are slotted are small. But worth the trouble.

How do you compare that little Kuzma to a table with a monster platter on it. Like the Transrotor , EAT or the VPI. 8000k plus . I know the kuzma is around $6000 with the motor controller and the stogi arm. So what you said about it being $2000 is not exactly true

hi When released it cost 2500, many years ago. I now own the Kuzma Stabi R, massive platter. They share similar sonic attributes, but the Stabi plays with more weight, a larger soundstage and generally greater authority.
