Hi everyone, I'm Lydia Gathoni Muiruri from Nairobi, Kenya. In this video, I share my deeply personal journey about losing my husband to HIV.
Many have pointed fingers and accused me, making my pain even harder.
I want to share my side of the story with you all, hoping to shed light on the struggles and challenges I've faced.

I'm a Zambian woman who had a similar experience, although not as serious as this one, I have. been moved by her story. My husband died of HIV. I am negative. I went through hell because there no one to talk to because it was not a disease you could talk about because of the silence. My late husband encouraged me talk openly about his illness but the community condemned me because they believed a good wife could not reveal the HIV status of her husband. I could see looks from people because they believed that I was also HIV positive. This belief led to rejection. I left my job to take care of my three patients, my mother who had her 3rd stroke, my daughter who was in and out of hospital because she had a heart problem and my HIV positive husband. God being God saw us through. I was. not easy but he is faithful,

There are medical papers and studies online which states that the transmission of HIV from females to males is highly unlikely, whereas from males to females is the norm. It SHOCKED me, since I assumed the rate of transmission would be the same for both sexes, but the medical studies do not confirm what I had assumed.

It makes sense. The virus for the man remains in the shaft of the male organ where it gets washed up when having a shower or bathing, while for a woman it remains inside the vagina and even the uterus where it's impossible to reach and clean.

Why is this so? In my place they will circumcise even the girl child and still be on them constantly with so much negativity. They also put too much pressure on the male children
