I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other. I think humans should just ditch concepts like dating, marriage, and pair bonding. I feel like this world would be a much better place without romance than it is with it. In my opinion, romantic love should not be on the highest pedestal. In my opinion, parents and siblings' family love is the strongest. Family knows who you are. Romance is fake for lots of people, put on a false persona and romance on most parts gets ugly real fast. For the reality of romance is no Disney love story. Parents and siblings' family love is one of the strongest types of love there is. If romantic love is actually real, it would be one of the weakest types of love there is.

Numbers on breakups don't tell me anything because obviously most people that date a few people before settling down are going to have more breakups than successful relationships. Some families don't know who you are and reject you. Many people do find real, strong, life-long romantic connections. But I wouldn't say that it isn't real and no one else should even try to experience it because you don't believe in it. You're right that it is no Disney story. But the real thing is a little much to scrunch down into 2 hrs or less and market to kids in an appropriate way. Not that Disney always does wonders with that either but yknow lol. I can tell you from experience that real romantic love is not weak. It can create a strong bond. It also can take a very strong bond to make it through all of life's hardships together, but for many people, its also what keeps them sane.
