Well all that i am sure of is that who or whatever is reading these words has NO CLUE what their definitions are - otherwise they’d be pronounced correctly. Especially strange is that sometimes the narration sounds fine - but other times - ACK how to explain?! - the emphasis is put on the _wrong words_ - lol it is offensive to the ears! .. This whole story is ridiculous and reads like a middle school child wrote it. “Jake didn’t consider having to square up with me” the wife who he knows is a lawyer. And Jake insisted on a prenup 😂where he gives her half if he cheats. And then he not only cheats but taunts her and rubs it in her face? Yeah. People don’t do that.

Here in New Zealand you would not be asked/told to use "his" lawyer, and no lawyer worth his while would act for both of you. You must use your own/another lawyer, not his lawyer. I hope if this is a true scenario, that you would not do as your husband wants, everything will go his way. Also in NZ law all property you both have accumulated if/when you have been together for 3+ years is divided in half unless you have made a "prenup". At the end good to see he came a cropper, good.

Probably less of afraid of her directly, sounds more of a situation where Xander is known to lie to his lawyer combined with a reputation for being meticulous and/or ruthless. He got himself blacklisted there with that stunt with Jake, probably, being grateful that he wasn't blindsided in court for his clients stupidity there, and lawyers tent to talk to each other quite a bit, especially about that sort of thing...and most know when someone was on a case for a bit and will find out why they dropped out
