@@mad_titanthanos it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I still see halos when there are bright lights or in the dark but I’ve gotten used to it and am able to ignore them now. The doctor says my lens might be a bit too large which causes it to bend a little more than desired which can be a cause of the halos. I am being monitored now, it has been a year since I’ve had my surgery :)

I got ICL surgery last week. My doctor did both eyes at once. I have the same things as you do post-op (rings on bright light). At the moment I still have slight myopia on my right eye (0.25) and my left eye is slightly better than normal (12/10). The doctor said it's the best case scenario for long term because my vision will not change much because of this. Obiously this could change over time but I'm very satisfied.

@MetallicReg
@MetallicReg 10 ай бұрын
@@davidpanqueva3899The circles are kind of a byproduct of a feature. The ICL has a central hole port - this guarantees the unhindered fluid exchange for the lens behind it. So while the modern ICL won’t be in the way any more, this hole adds a ring for bright light sources. Your brain learns to blend them out/ignore them after about 6 months.

This is the only vision correction surgery I can have done. The combination between a thin cornea and an irregular shaped cornea. Ive watched other videos on KZfaq and have read comments of some people who have had nightmare experiences that have made their vision worse. The rings kind of scare me because they don’t go away it just your body adapting to it. I also heard people talk about glare and you kind of adapt to that as well.

So good i watched your video. I'll have this surgery in June and I'm Soo nervous... I hope everything will be ok. What about the future? Aren't you afraid that sth will happen to your eyes because of ICL? Honestly, I'm not worried so much about side effects right after surgery, but like 10-20 years after it. On the other hand, i never know what's gonna happen without ICL in my eye, so... I don't really know if i should think about it so much, but I'm nervous anyway... I hope I won't resign, i really hate my -7, it's unbearable!

I was suggested to go for ICL. Although after reading a lot of research articles about the risk of early Cataract, which is inevitable, I dropped the idea. How do you feel about ICL in a long run? How has been your experience for the last 1 year?
@MetallicReg
@MetallicReg 10 ай бұрын
Wrong conclusion. 1. Cataract is a fate of EVERYONE. 65+ all lenses will start hazing. 2. You found obsolete studies of 2000th. Those kind of lenses aren’t used any more. They could inhibit the fluid dynamics of the eye a bit. Modern ones have absolutely no effect on the lens. 3. Modern ICL is the safest of all correction types besides the glasses. Other than a few endothelium cells that you lose after any kind of deep eye manipulation there is nothing to worry about.
@samijune5824
@samijune5824 8 ай бұрын
For me, early cataracts already run my family. The discussion I had at my consultation addressed this risk as very real, but the doctor said cataracts is something that happens to everyone it’s just a matter of when. If I’m already predisposed, then there’s no point in holding myself back from the relief of ICL. The inconvenience and stress that my contacts and glasses cause my life outweigh the fact that I may have to wear cheaters and get cataract surgery a little earlier than most people. I can barely function in my glasses now, so even if I have to wear normal glasses after the surgery, that would still be a dream come true to me. Contacts are not very good for your eye health and I worry about having to wear them so much. Since I can’t see out of my glasses very well I wear contacts sometimes up to 16 hours a day and it worries me that I’m damaging my eyes. Yes it’s a serious risk but it’s one I’m willing to take.

@@samijune5824 hey i absolutely get you. I have both myopia and astigmatism even tho i only have about -6 of myopia i just can't live with glasses. I can't stand them they weight on my ears and make everything difficult even when things should be easy. I wore contacts for years and for long hours just like you, but now my eyes can't stand them anymore and i'll get conjuntivitis if i wear them and it really painful. It's because my eyes dried out wearing them. So since i can't get lasik i wanna do this surgery. I talked with my doctor we're just waiting for 1 year to see if my degrees increase or not so i can get it. I'm scared coz another doctor tried to talked me out of it by saying "this is not like lasik this is a serious surgery" whatever that means. Also i know there can be many negative outcomes but i also know its a small possibility and as you said im willing to take the risk coz the alternative is to keep on living with glasses .

Hello guys! I’ve had my icl operation some 5 days ago! First I got my right eye operated - control on the second day - 3rd day operation of the left eye - day 4 control - today is day 5 in total ! My sight is clear, I see only a few halos sometimes and they don’t bother me. The night after both of the operations I had strong strong headache (took too many pain killer pills - but they didn’t help - I had to go through this until I finally fell asleep around 3 or 4 in the morning both days) anyway after waking up in the morning the pain was gone on both days only a little little pain in the hole where the eye is sitting. (Sorry for my English I am Austrian 😅) I have no problems with light, no problem with reading. just using the phone for a long time or tv light is making my eyes a little tired. I love how I can see now without caring about glasses. Lenses, red eyes, dry eyes.. my eyes aren’t even dry so far.. let’s see! The only thing that irritates me since I’ve had the operation I have really strong and crazy dreams, sometimes multiple and waking up sweating. I didn’t have that before and I tried to find somebody who tells the same but I didn’t find anything on the internet ..

Hey Sindy ! Thank you for your video, got my right eye done this monday, currently on wednesday so like ~2.5 days later and I had a few questions. I can read a lot of letters but I noticed that my reading is rather blurry in "dark situations" and I still have some troubles focusing my eyes properly for some writings. I believe it to be simply because both of my eyes aren't done the same day but I was wondering if you also experience blurriness, especially around light sources 2 days after the surgery ? Thank you a lot and wish you the best !

Hey! First of all thank you very much. 2 days after surgery is still very early to worry about anything - especially if one eye surgery is still missing. Don’t panic and give it some time. I remember when my first eye was done, I also had trouble with lightning and especially halos. But it’s all good now and I’m really happy. Don’t worry, it’ll be alright. :)

Depends on the clinic. Many that specialize on ICL are able to perform both in one sitting. Usually a couple of days to one week. It is however better to not do any demanding/extreme sport activities for the first month. It is very rare but the lens needs this time to sit firmly and eliminate any residual risk of turning (this is mainly for people with toric ones)
