Introducing the “PigPort!” This is beginning of my best effort to showcase the raising of pigs in very small spaces (without smell)! Check out the “Permaculture Pigs” Kickstarter and learn how to raise pigs yourself: bit.ly/PermaculturePigs. Check out Al’s video: bit.ly/AlsKZfaqVideo

Can’t wait to watch the pigs grow up! I think the pigport is going to work great for people with limited space! The forest 🌳 is going to look so good come this fall

We grew hogs commercially in parlors for many years until the slaughter houses moved out of state. This “pig port” blows my mind. Perfect for small scale plus you’re getting compost that’s piled already by the garden. Hardly no starting cost.

Can I ad my whole life I wondered how families in Kentucky do well in such a rural environment and your show provides a good example of how to do it. The best part is seeing how close your family and friends are and how happy the children are!

Probably doesn't help for this year, but I've found mixing my carrot and radish seeds work perfectly. The radish germinates faster than the weeds and shades them out, and then the carrots are just starting to need the light and space when the radish are ready to harvest.

Start growing marrows, squash, pumpkin, like crazy. The pigs will love you. You could even grow some extra corn and feed them the whole corn plant when its done.

I spray my seedlings with colloidal silver. REALLY helps with the mold and fungus issues. I have 2.33 acres, but I still do raised beds cause they’re just so much easier for us. We don’t have livestock (we had intended but found out we’re allergic to eggs and duck eggs and goats milk! Ugh!).

Ooohhh I had spaghetti squash the other day for the first time ever, it is amazing!! It's really uncommon in Australia so I bought 3 more the next day and I'm going to keep all the seeds and try and grow some (hopefully they aren't a crossbreed when they grow)

I think the pig port would be a great option to keep a few pigs over the winter. Maybe higher sides to block the wind. Leaves to add to the mulch bedding. Turn kitchen scraps into bacon 🤷‍♂️

What natural weed type plants would you feed pigs? What would they eat in the wild? What can't pigs eat or what will make them sick? Will this be covered in your videos?

I'd love to raise pigs but the area I have for them is perfect for them other than all the poison ivy. That's the one reason why we haven't purchased feeder pigs yet. Will they eat poison ivy, and if so does it effect them and or the meat? Our land is almost completely open but there's this one area wooded and thick that I'd like to have them clear, just to open it up more. The only draw back in pasturing them there in this area besides the poison ivy is it's also loaded with natural growing Black Berry's. So, my only concern really is the poison ivy. If they eat it will it effect them and the meat??
