IDENTICAL twins don’t usually come with physical differences, but for two remarkable Texas twins, being mistaken for mother and daughter is a regular occurrence. 20-year-olds Sierra and Sienna Bernal are identical twin sisters but were born with a significant difference: Sienna has Primordial Dwarfism. The condition causes small body size, resulting in Sienna being more than a foot smaller than Sierra, and weighing only 50 pounds, in comparison to Sierra’s 98 pounds. Sierra TV: “Sometimes whenever people find out we're twins they’ll ask ‘how old is she?’ So a lot of times even after you've established that we’re twins they'll ask Sienna if she's younger. I’m like ‘that’s how twins work, we’re the exact same age’. And even sometimes people think she’s my daughter.”

Primordial dwarfism is different than what you might be thinking of. With primordial dwarfism, they tend to have perfectly proportioned features that are just much smaller. I think these sisters are absolutely beautiful.

emma elson primordial dwarfism is different to achondroplasia. Achondroplasia is the type of dwarfism that is common. Primordial dwarfism isn’t very common so it’s not as recognised so you wouldn’t really think that she had dwarfism since it’s really different to what you wouldn’t consider dwarfism as.

I had twins at 20 and named them Annie and Abby. (Would not do that again!) Then had a second set and they are Charlie and Odin. The similar names can be way too confusing!!

Wow! I have agenesis of the corpus callosum too, It’s so cool to hear someone else’s story. I had and have a lot of health problems, learning disabilities, and some atypical attributes, but wasn’t diagnosed until I was in my early 30’s. The world needs more education around this congenital brain disorder. Wish I could meet these sisters!

Queen of the Mermaids is a fantastic title. hahaha. I'm wondering if she means performing as a mermaid. Some places have underwater mermaid shows. If you've never seen one, look it up here! it's pretty neat. But given her issues with staying warm in water..I wonder how that would pan out. Unless theirs heated pools.

I don't believe they are identical. How do they know they are identical? A lot of people say they are identical twins but they aren't

@@spoonypoon7998 they are identical twins when the egg splits after being fertalized. Doctors will know this a few months into the pregnancy. If they are fraternal, it's two seperate sperms to two seperate eggs. So they are identical from being from the same egg and sperm.

Dwarfism, along with height, can be small in general. Like her weight and stature. Maybe the way they filmed tried to make her family appear super tall and in turn made her taller too

Amby really though. I understand doctors cannot excite the parents too much but they can offer a sense of hope to the parents in times where they don’t know if their child will survive

When I was hospitalized with a life threatening chest infection, my surgeon refused to say I would be okay to my parents. He just didn't know and he knew that from the way the wound looked, my days were numbered.

I struggled comparing myself to my sister for years because I was fat, and she wasn't. People would say we were both so pretty except me being fat. I grew to resent her, through no fault of her own, as the years passed. Seeing these two sisters I remembered that resentment, and it felt so stupid because they're both stunning in different ways. Glad I grew up from that.
