Absolutely beautiful truck. So many are missing out on this wonderful vehicle, because they're so busy buying familiar car names instead. Mercedes, General Motors, Ford, Toyota, but the new kids on the block deserve a chance at recognition!

@@grenadier_exploring, excellent my friend!! At the moment, you are the only one out there using their new Grenadier to show us how this thing stacks up. We have seen plenty of relatively basic off road tasks that don’t seem to challenge the capabilities much at all. If you produced a video that gave a wealth of insight into your impressions of what may be some of the upper limits of its capabilities, that would definitely become a very popular video for sure. So many of us are waiting for this, but we also understand that for many, this is probably their baby and don’t want to go too far. At some point there will be those that put the Grenadier to the real test. But for now, some extended coverage of the vehicle in its element would be terrific. Can’t wait to get mine!!! Won’t be here until after December, but I have no problem with that. Yeah, I’m anxious to put it through its paces, but I totally get the massive undertaking they are engaged in to make this all come together and putting out a top quality product. Great stuff!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Hello. In my Video "How To - Episode 06" I talk about this issue. In short: blinking doesn't mean the lockers are still engaged. it means that the car hasn't sensed a difference in wheel spin yet and couldn't confirm the dis-engagment. doing a (few) turn(s) should stop the blinking. 👍🏻

What is the off-Road Performance, now you been using the vehicle for a while, also what the Vision like Off-Road too, equally how well does the Steering perform Off-Road too? Lastly how is access in and out of the rear passenger doors, or in and out of the rear tailgate door too, or in and out of the front passenger door too, are there suitable grabrails in place? As I am only 4ft 10 inches tall myself, so are the drivers and front passengers seat, fully height adjustable too, also the driver's foot pedels adjustable for driver's size and height or length of legs too?
@grenadier_exploring
@grenadier_exploring Жыл бұрын
hello wendy! the off-road performance is amazing. i am releasing a video today with a very basic demonstration...more to come. the steering is designed for off-road as well. you have handles above the door entrance but they are not really grab handles. without sidesteps it's a task to get in. so i would suggest to consider that option, especially with your height. the driver is seat is fully adjustable, also in height but the pedals are NOT.

@grenadier_exploring
@grenadier_exploring 6 ай бұрын
Hi. When do you get yours and which configuration? Yes, you can engage the centre diff. lock on the move in HI and LO. The front&rear diff. locks can be engaged up to a speed of 15km/h (8mph) as well. Only HI to LO (and vice versa) requires you to stop and put the transmission in N for the change.

@@grenadier_exploring Delivery moth is in July (we are quite behind here). Is the Trialmaster rough pack. Anyway, the reason of my question is that I had a bit of trouble with this when I was test driving yesterday and the fellow that was with me did seem to be that familiar with that either. I have been driving only part time 4WD manual transmission for decades. And done modifications to my trucks etc. This will be my first full time 4WD with automatic transmission. As far as how to engage different features each vehicle is different as you probably know. Thank you for the response
@grenadier_exploring
@grenadier_exploring 6 ай бұрын
nice choice!!! I understand. With the transfer case on the Grenadier you need to use a little force in the beginning (especially when they are new). I would call it a "positive action" to engage the gear. I have no problems with engagements of HI/LO, diff locks, etc. Only thing i observe: it takes a while for the locks to dis-engage....requires sometimes a few turns.

In the low range when you put the transmission in manual mode how can you lock the gears? For instance if you want to go downhill in 1st gear the transmission should stay locked in 1st no mater what. But if it is in manual mode but not locked, if you put it in 5th and you start from stand still the transmission should change gears form 1st to 5th. Does it have this feature?
@grenadier_exploring
@grenadier_exploring Жыл бұрын
if you want to start with a high gear, it will shift down automatically to the gear needed to get going (depending on LOW or HI). but then it stays in that gear until you shift up (in manual mode). does that answer the question?
@andrei.p.70
@andrei.p.70 Жыл бұрын
@@grenadier_exploring Two different scenarios: 1. when going downhill, if it's very steep, I prefer to lock the automatic gearbox in manual mode 1st gear and engine compression will be enough to slow down the car to a walking pace. HDC is on just as a safety secondary feature as I don't like it's lag, can be dangerous on muddy conditions. 2. When going uphill for a long steep climb I lock the gearbox in manual mode, start from standstill with 2nd gear and if needed on the last 1/3 or 1/4 of the climb I shift in 3rd gear. So, when locked in manual mode my gearbox is 100% acting like a manual gearbox, just I don't have a clutch to operate having both worlds of auto and manual gearbox. This feature also allows to start from standstill in 4th gear and the gearbox will stay locked in that gear, which is helpful when I am in mud as I can use the little traction I have with low torque. Locking in manual mode only work in Low. It's a LR Disco 2 TD5 Auto. Can you operate the same with the Ineos Grenadier, locking the gearbox exactly in the gear you want, no matter what revs is the engine, or the computer will eventually shift gears by itself?
@grenadier_exploring
@grenadier_exploring Жыл бұрын
did now some checks, here are the results: 1.) the transmission never shifts up for you!! 2.) when slowing down in a high gear, the transmission will eventually go to a lower gear automatically - when u approach a RPM that is too low for the engine (no matter if in AUTO or MANUAL) 3.) the highest gear you can start with depends on the selection of the transfer case. 2nd gear in HI and 3rd gear in LOW! 4.) you still have to shift up manually, no matter which gear you had selected when stopping (in MANUAL) hope I could answer all the questions?!

Thanks so much for the video, your series is really informative and I'm subscribed! What is the top speed that you can engage the center diff lock (CDL) from normal on pavement 4wd open diff mode? An example would be that you are cruising on drive pavement in the mountains and then encounter icy or snowy conditions and you'd want to go into 4WD high and then you continue back to dry pavement where you'd want to disengage the CDL, back to its normal 4WD open diff mode.

thank you very much for your subscription and i am glad you enjoy the videos. I just went through the manuals again but couldn't find a max speed to engage the center diff lock. it is 15km/h (8mph) for the rear and front diff locks and the maximum speed to have the locks engaged is 70km/h (43.5mph). the engineers' words were "at low speeds". I will try to get you a number!! As I see it, 15km/h (8mph) is definitely safe but of course it would be nice to be able to go faster in the situation you described!
