Hi Friends!
I wanted to come on here and thank you all once again for the absolutely amazing and overwhelmingly positive response on the intervention video. It truly touched me to see how many people resonated with my story in some type of way. We are so not alone! In the love came some questions as well so I figured I'd answer some of those. Let me know if you have more or want me to answer any more!
We love you ❤️

Hmmm I never thought about it until now but I’m going to start saying “we should get some coffee/lunch sometime” instead of “we should get a drink sometime”. Little things like that can avoid someone feeling pressured.

That part. “Sometimes it’s better to leave them alone and to allow them to go on with their lives. They’re fine without you. Make amends by being better with the people on your life today”

When you mentioned having a lot of friends who you didn’t know as well before and having a few close friends that you know really well after is soooo relatable. I went through the same thing and I’ve never heard anyone mention that difference before/after recovery. I love your videos so much!

Love how open and supportive you both are of each other and everyone else. I've been clean almost 13 years and I wish I realized then that I AM HUMAN and am WORTHY OF LOVE and FORGIVENESS. I completely agree with making ammends, if it is going to do more harm than good, walk away. My prayers for you ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you Chris, I've been struggling with the needs to make amends but I think you put it wonderfully: for the person that I am struggling with making amends with, it would be more detrimental for them and more for myself than for helping them heal and move on. Thank you for helping me realise that. 🇬🇧

Well addiction is a brutal thing. And the thing is your eventually going to hit rock bottom. It's better to hit that with the support of your family at a young age than hitting that while living on the streets with no one there left to help with most of your life gone.

great videos, second youtuber. I see to now talk about their sobriety and what it took to get then sober. I am 11 years sober October, 31, 2021. And I think it's important that people show what being sober can look like. Sometimes new comers get lost in this world of I don't know. And they don't see what wonderful things a wait them. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart. From one sober man to another. One day at a time.

My parents were both alcoholics - not piss your pants in the park alcoholics - but they drank every single day. In my late teens at college I realised I was heading down the same track and forced myself to stop drinking as a habit and made it a social only event - so although I still drink (now 57), I only tend to drink out or when friends/family come round (and very occasionally a beer if it has been a lovely long summer day). Over the pandemic this has meant I probably only had 5 or 6 beers in the last 12 months. Drink to me is something to help have fun, not something that gets me through the day. Hope your relationship with alcohol/drugs remains healthy, whether that is total sobriety or controlled usage.

hi, this question is for ian. i had a similar situation to your friend where i had a really bad head injury that changed my life and my family were deeply involved. i’m just curious, how you felt as a friend? like did you feel burdened or anything? i guess i’m asking because i lost many friends due to my injury being “invisible” and therefore some thought i was making it up.
