Great tutorial as always - just that the tuning is actually EGDGBEb - explains how Jonny can spam D-Eb notes on B and E(Eb) strings through out the song seamlessly.

@@wellerlin8345 Just realized that we wrote the high E string as a lower case e, does that imply it to be Eb? I haven't seen people writing flat tuning as a lower case, I thought it was for a higher note

Even after all these years I never knew that Johnny had dropped the A to G. I always played it in standard. Amazes me that they took the heavy bits from the Astoria show and cut them in for the album.

That’s an ebow- it’s a magnetic thing that makes it sound like a violin bow…

Are your tones fully digital, - no effects, no amps, no mics?

Almost entirely digital. All of the amps are digital - using Amplitube nowadays. 90% of pedal sounds are Amplitube but I use some real pedals where needed. This is one of the songs where I use pedals. The octave for the main guitar is using a Whammy Ricochet (in 12bit mode to sound glitchy) - and the heavy parts are a Marshall Shredmaster.

@@andreyvat4767well, if you dedicate enough time, you can make every sound you want in a computer, but it's not really worth it to spend hours just to match the extra 10% left of a song's tone

@@unacuentadeyoutube13 sorry, i never use PC as guitar effects or amps.... i know i might be old school but it feels a bit like cheating... i might change my opinion in the future though, but i am good with an analogue chain for now

@@andreyvat4767 yeah, analogue is way more practical and it feels better to dial the amp with actual dials and not dragging your mouse. Amps where I live are extremely expensive, so I have to rely on my computer and my ear to set the tone I'm looking for
