My jerseys sounds very old. Mine early ones, that I still have dates back to 1999. I laugh when you said "I do a fair bit off cooking in this thing" about the South African Jersey. I did not relies that cooking splatters were part of the jersey test. I would expect drinks and fast food stains to be the major issues.

I bought a Japan 2019 and All Blacks jersey during the world cup...but why the logo is not stitched? I bought it from Adidas directly and the Japan jersey from JD Sports, so doubt they will sell fake. Then I ordered 2 fake jerseys from Ebay and they were all stitched.
