What a great story. I can feel your passion. I’ve gotten into this fragrance rabbit hole only a few months ago. But once you’re in, you go deeper and deeper. I’m 3 years older than you. It’s never too late for new passions. I skipped the designers, though, and went straight to niche. 🤩 Btw, I’m Italian/German and I’ve been to about 50 countries. I’m now on my scent journey …

Your content is always such a worthwhile watch. The breadth of knowledge you share about fragrances is worth an ear for every fraghead taking on their own fragrance journey. Your guests are funny, articulate and so knowledgeable (shout out to Dana, Dhalia and Ashley...love those ladies!). You have a great youtube voice, too that's not obnoxious nor stiff. I look forward to watching more of your videos. My taste in fragrances has certainly expanded from just watching your vast collection and recommendations...ya got me all spendy, too. But to each our own joy, and fragrances make me happy, feel creative and expressive. You've been such a wonderful influence. Thanks for all you do.

Outstanding video! Fragrances are all about the memories they evoke from our childhood to early adulthood and on. You hit it out of the park with describing everything from your parents passion and every decade to present, while listing genres and certain fragrances. The 90s brought back some memories for me. Well done and truly inspiring.

Agree. I always wonder why nobody into niche fragrances seems to remember and highly rate 'Ve Versace'. It was a really unusual banana & champagne combination. Almost impossible to describe and there's certainly no modern dupe I can think of. I think it ought to be brought back. Or at least celebrated in blogs and videos :)

It’s always a pleasure watching your reviews but this review took me back to my childhood. My parents wore pretty much the same fragrances your parents did. My fathers favorite was Caron. Growing up in our backyard we also had a big garden.Every Armenian family had to have a lemon and fig tree. In the 80s my grandmother worked at May Company and she would bring me fragrances all the time the fist fragrance I remember was Drakkar. That started my love for fragrances.About four years ago I discovered KZfaq reviewers which your channel was one of them. Thanks to you and other reviewers I discovered the niche world of fragrances. Keep up the great work my friend. 🇦🇲

My mama was Greek and took me many times to Greek Orghodox church. Man did I love that smell of frankincence and whatever else they put in those censers. Also my mother’s incredible baklava with loads of cinnamon and cloves and butter. Also she used to make broccoli rabe and mustardgreens, swiss chard and other VERY uncommon greens back in the 70’s! Sadly she died in 1980 but I remember, like you, when kiwis and arugula and other greens like that came out in supermarkets in the USA.. This was a great video- can’t believeI missed it a year ago.

Sebastian, hearing you tell your story was like hearing my life replay, a lot of your scent memories from Lebanon, spices, parents perfume etc resonated so strong with me. I don't have a channel but I have your passion for scents. My mother used to wear a scent called ramage, a popular scent long ago in the Middle East. It's discontinued but I was fortunate to get my hands on a bottle. Smells like churches and incense. Beautiful to me. Appreciate your reviews.😀

Sebastian, this is such an interesting life and story - love it! We’re the same age and I think my earliest scent obsessions were Gee your hair smells terrific! lemon pledge! Coffee, Italian meatballs in sauce, fresh basil, and pigniolata coated in honey, vanilla infused pastries. Juicy fruit gum. love baby soft for me, joy on my aunt, carnations and roses in the house, fig tree in the yard. I can see how my early preferences translate to my current fragrances. I went to a perfumerie in France when I was 20, learned notes. Life changing!

Macedonian/American subscriber here, I understood every single word and description you gave 😁. Being born myself in Greek Orthodox family and being raised at the Balkans, all your descriptions of the old churches, the spices and food smells reminded me to Macedonia and Greece and my childhood. I Remember my mother’s favorite perfumes from the 80’s and 90’s, she always smelled like YSL Opium or Shalimar Guerlain and I remember my grandfathers signature smell was Italian cologne Pino Silvestre. After finishing my bachelors, I moved to USA 🇺🇸 and I’m not in touch with my culture and roots that much, except spending summers in Macedonia and Greece, but your description of your childhood was on point and wonderful time machine, returning me back to the days of late 80’s and early 90’s. I love your reviews, keep up the good job Sebastian 👏. Greetings from Oklahoma City.

This has been so enjoyable, Sebastian. Thanks for sharing your journey. Your parents showered you with an amazing wealth of experiences that were fail-proof to lead you to where you are right now, from the places they travelled to the plants they grew. Perhaps in the next round, you could share about how you came across some of your bubbly personalities who are guests on your videos. Please also do a review of the French house Isabey someday, unless you've been underwhelmed by them. I'm very intrigued by their Tendre Nuit and would love your opinion on it. Thank you. Love your channel. 💜💜

I’ve been watching a ton of your videos. They’re all starting to mix. I think you said that you don’t review clones. If a clone company had an original scent, would you review their original scents? I bought a discovery set form Oakcha. Most of the scents are dupes, but they do have some original scents. Thanks for your videos. You talk about every scent, not just the popular ones. As someone who is new to this hobby, three months in, it’s nice to hear someone love inexpensive fragrances. My stepdad loves scents. You have mentioned Bentley for Men more than once. That’s going to be his Father’s Day gift. Keep up the awesome videos.

So interesting. Whenever you talk about stuff about your childhood, I try to imagine my own at the same time. As my fragrance collection builds up, I just recently realized that mom had a special display shelf of her own fragrances (most of them were classic designer brands of course). She was a very elegant lady who also loves to dance with my dad on events and parties in my hometown.

Just subscribed and really enjoy. I was born in 1969 and the seventies and eighties were my favorite. I started out with pier Cardin , Drakkar Noir, Paul Sebastian. . Drakkar was freaking awesome. Enjoyed this video. Look forward to seeing more. Cliff from Georgia.

We are Proud of Sebastian. Best regards from Lebanon ❤❤ Wanted to see what You used in 80's and 90's to see if we used the same perfum. I am using Minotaure since it released and bought a couple online from a couple of days. I also use Jazz for YSL but not as strong as before but it seems You didn't try it. I also used for a short time l'eau D'Issey and Versace Jeans. I also used to love the Armani in 80's as Versace pour L'homme. Lovely video and thank You for your time :)

I left off a lot of fragrances and YSL Jazz and YSL Kouros are others that I used as well. Even as a young kid the civette in Kouros didn't bother me. LOL! Regarding Minotaure there's a new fragrance that's coming out or should be out very very soon created by the same perfumer of Minotaure and should smell very close to the original incarnation of the scent. I'm not mentioning what it is but will mention in my video as soon as I have it! :)

Thoroughly enjoyed learning about your journey. I envy your upbringing so much: the difference countries you lived in (the food, the languages, etc.) and your parents sound amazing. It was funny because I happened to be chopping mint when you mentioned mint. I'm so glad I found your channel. I have not bought a single new fragrance for possibly over 20 years and even before that, only used what I got as gifts. Listening to you just boggles my mind and wakes me up to a whole new world!
