My question is on the Kayak when you run it continuously do you record all day and the videos break up in five minute sections maybe. I’m at external battery firmware update. If you wanna run the regular GoPro battery will it still work with that firmware setting?

@jasonchavis6414 Thanks for your questions. You will have to stop your cameras periodically when running continuous power. I stop mine every hour, because if not then the files will be too big to open. I also stop them sometimes when I catch a fish, so the footage is easier to find. I run a 256 GB SD card, so I can get 8 hours + recording time on 1080P. With the firmware setting you can still run batteries or external power. You will have to be careful with future firmware updates as sometimes they will wipe out your continuous addon and you will have to reinstall it.

Thank you so much last question it’s going to be hard for me to reach in my pro angler backwards to shut the camera on and off. What’s the easiest way to do it?

@jasonchavis6414 I myself use the GoPro Quick App on my I-Phone it allows me to control multiple cameras right on my phone. If you do not have the Quick App on your phone, you can either pick up a wireless remote gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/the-remote/ARMTE-003.html Or set your back camera to accept voice commands.

So I have a question for you. Do you ever run into heat issues where the camera cuts off due to heat? I use mine for recording baseball games. I had to put a 3D printed house-looking thing with built-in fan to keep it from cutting off on hot summer days.

Thanks for your question. That’s a pretty cool idea. In Pennsylvania I have not ran into any heat problems yet, and I run them on average for 8 hours on a trip. I could not vouch for somewhere like Florida where the temperatures are allot higher. If someone runs this setup down south and would like to add their experiences with the 3BR housing, then that would be great!

i have heard it overheats due to internal battery.. if u are running external battery it does not overheat. i'm not sure this is true but this is what i heard watching other videos.

@@miamiwax5504 I ran two today 94 degrees and miserable with no wind. I had one of the two overheat after 6 hours or so run time. I shut it off for an hour and then ran it for a few more hours before quitting. That’s the first time I had an issue but I could see it being a problem for longer filming in hotter temperatures.

Practical vid, Badger, thanks! The baseball cap camera I use is great, but yeah, it's a little high and far from the action at times and can be "jerky" as I glance around nervously with a big fish on haha,, but it "looks" where you look, doesn't have to be adjusted downward, so yeah, there are trade-offs with each approach, I guess. Great battery suggestion about the Dakota lithium. Same for the 3BR case. I'll have to check those out. Nice job! Question: I don't continuously record that often. Ever have a problem with a camera overheating from continuous recording? Is there a solution? thx!

@YFAwithTodd Thanks for watching Todd, and thanks for your insight on the hat camera mount! I will have to experiment with the hat camera this year for sure. Yes, definitely check out 3BR and Dakota lithium. They make great products. Both are made in the USA! 💪 To answer your question about overheating - I did allot of reading and research on overheating and running continuous power before I took the plunge. I didn't have any issues this year over heating with continuous power, because you need to have the battery removed. However, I cannot vouch for videoing somewhere like Florida whereas the temperatures are more extreme. From what I have gathered if you try to run external power with a battery in the GoPro, then you will definitely experience overheating issues. Thanks again for your question and for watching!

I'm a tournament angler from a kayak and I'd just like to remind you to please wear a life jacket. You spend the time putting on a chest camera. You never know when your going in even on a hobie trust me I know.

@peterbelcher39 Your absolutely right, I really appreciate that point. Safety is most important. It is actually required in Pennsylvania November 1 through April 30 in a kayak. Thanks for watching Peter.
