I have had my Kayo K-6R Dirt Bike for 1 YR now so I did a little review of how its held up and performed in that time.

I wonder if that tach just needs a new battery? Maybe it's one of those ones that takes a button cell inside?

Similar to 2016 KTM 250 SXF...But not exact...tank is definitely different...shrouds are different but can be made to work...shock and forks...clamps totally different....in reality most things are different.

Question wouldn't keeping the kicker and getting rid of the battery be a good weight savings or maybe a lithium? I'm new to this dirt bike stuff really kicking around the kayo k2 230
@Dirt_Bike_Dave7 ай бұрын
They are nearly Impossible to kick start..so lithium battery and remove kicker.

For me, I'd use it as a trail bike, and if I went with a Japanese bike brand new I'd cross shop the Kayo against the Yamaha WR250F or something like that. Obviously the Yamaha is a better bike, but the main problem I have with the Chinese bikes is weight. But I went and looked and the WR250F is 254 lbs wet. The Kayo K6-R is listed as 245 lbs but I guess that's probably dry weight. Still, if you're going to use it on a motocross track rarely if ever, this seems like a really good trail bike even compared to something Japanese. And that WR250F would be $10,000 after dealer fees, etc., probably more in reality. That's IF you could even find one, and it's basically double the price. Yeah it's a much better bike but not $5k better. Especially not for an average trail rider like me. I do wonder what the actual wet weight is compared to Japanese trail bike on the same scales, both with fluids. I wonder how much heavier it really is. Gonna start saving my pennies. Thanks for your vids about these bikes. 👍

So mine was like 250 lbs with oil and 1 gallon gas..I shaved 10 lbs from stock do with gas still like 240lbs...lighter than some ..but still heavy...and yes I would agree..it has it's faults but the Big 5 brands are not $3-$4 thousand dollars better for Joe Average.
@bwxmoto Жыл бұрын
@@Dirt_Bike_Dave Yeah and even $5k +tax is a pretty big chunk of change for a dirt bike for most normal people to justify.

What weight of spring did you use?
@Dirt_Bike_Dave Жыл бұрын
Really depends on your weight...I will be installing a 6.0 x 260 for a 2013 KTM 450SXF for my 200lbs ..I had a 5.7 x 250 previously...if you do this you will need a spring compressor...also often times if you change shock spring it means fork springs also.
