Do you have a budget 7-8 ft rod for a 50 w like under 200$

Awesome video! Could you please suggest the most affordable line setup for my 50w fishing from a sandy beach for sharks only? Sadly I can't afford $300 worth of line and I'm not looking to catch jaws either but maybe his little cousin 🤔

I use a 6 foot star rod w a roller tip, in your opinion do you think 6 foot is too short? The rod is an extra heavy and shines toy doesn’t have a whole lot of bend to it. Kindve feels like a broom stick hahaha

Thanks Jack! I really appreciate that information. I have a question. Why is the black “50” size reel not adequate for all your LBSF? In on other words, why the 80 wides… like, what scenario would you be like, that 50 ain’t gonna cut it. Gotta have the 80 Ws? Also, yes!! Please more videos like this
@YakinwithJack
@YakinwithJack 2 жыл бұрын
I like the 80w for our area because of the line capacity and high drag numbers. But this also depends on where you are fishing well. I just like using the 80s because I know I can get the sharks in quick and release as quick as possible

I’m heading down to Navarre here in like a week or two. What are the pros and cons of this over an Avet or Penn international?
@YakinwithJack
@YakinwithJack 2 жыл бұрын
Better drag , better drag ramp and 10x smother then avet and penn. Penne and avets are still great reels. But after dealing with avet customer service I won’t go back

I'm shark fishing on my boat in Florida what should I get for a reel a 50 or 80 wide and what pound line I been getting 10ft sharks on a penn 7500 I know it's to small
@YakinwithJack
@YakinwithJack 2 жыл бұрын
I would go with a 80w personally. I use 200 pound hollow core braid with a 200 pound mono top shot

This Video is so old I know I wont get any response but here goes anyways - Can someone please tell a newbie to this why the big shark reels dont have any kind of level wind system? Having to guide the line with your thumb / finger on retrieve seems to me to be an additional task you dont need when you are already in a serious hard fight . Is it due to line fray and / or wear on level wind components when they are under that high a loading? That's the only answer I could come up with but I'm just curious if that is correct or not, any input would be appreciated ! thanks!

That’s exactly why running high and line tension. Also you can put more line on thr reels with out a level wind

how do they compare with the avet 80?? any idea Also are the rods custom or can those be bought off the shelf?
@YakinwithJack
@YakinwithJack 2 жыл бұрын
Rods are custom rainshadow blanks. They have the same amount of drag as the trx. But they have a better drag ramp and are 10x smoother then avet. Plus the customer Service is a lot better with Okuma

Both are great reels with same amount of drag. Avet has been lacking in the customer service department and drag sticking issues.
