I’ve only just come across this great channel, you’re not only an accomplished mechanic (unlike most fitters these days) you’re a great tuber, replying to almost all comments and taking note of feedback. I just love Land Cruisers, especially my old HZJ80, no ECUs, no computers, no turbo, it’s just a grunt diesel tractor🤣. “Needs testing” I like it, any excuse 🤣. 22:23 A shovel spade actually works REALLY well for positioning heavy / large wheels back onto the hubs Danie. Similar method to what you used but a shovel / spade gives you better leverage and control plus will not sink into soft ground. You use the tip of the spade to support the bottom of the tyre so the heal of the shovel/ spade then acts as a fulcrum. A lot less effort required. All the best from the West :)

Good on you for having a go. I've done this job a few times on my Landcruiser and one good investment I made was a brass hammer from SuperCrap, I also get those cone washers out by any means possible and the brass hammer is easier than a drift and only cost like $30

I don't have a concrete slab and this is how I work on my own rig. Jacks (factory and highlift) stands, timber and tie-downs for bolt-hole realignment. Makes you think outside the box and eliminates that idealist thought process where people can't do a job because they haven't got the ideal set-up area or tooling. "Just get 'er done!"

Great video. Run my own heavy equipment repair business in UK. Have four vehicles to look after at home. I can not get my lady to even check her oil or fill a washer bottle, Her excuse i live with a fitter. I cant complain as she good at joinery and all the do the house stuff. Nice truck, beautiful smile and i subscribed. Forgot to mention i run a highly modified disco 2 with a full overland setup, not that we got space to play here. Hi LC Gal, you gotta use an axle stand or atleast put the wheel under the chassis and chock the rear wheel with 4 bricks. No fun having the car roll of the jack when you are under it... Keep the videos coming.🤠

Omg people read past comments before commenting. This has been answered. My handbrake works. The ground was flat. You couldnt roll the cruiser even if you tried. The jack isnt hydraulic it isnt going to just suddenly fall. It is as stable as a stand. If you have a jack available use it

@@DanieSimpson it was $1000$ sitting on 37s with a 302 ford, 4 spd, broke axle shaft and shattered transfer case. I already had a tcase so I'm I'm it about $1500. I wish more American women acted like you!!!

i shove the bearing in a snap lock bag with the grease and do it that way, saves getting all mucked up....but does feel good going thru ya fingers.. good job Danie

Nice to see a young lady who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. You say not the right way to this , other than your safety stand missing or pitching the tire under . I say job well done ,it work doesn't it . If this was a trail fix to get home you wouldn't have any more tools than you used . There is text book way and then the, I need it fixed way, both work . I hope this inspires more young ladies to have a go .

Good video Danie, I am suprised you didn't have any mates helping you, personally I love helping mates fix busted stuff or fitting upgrades, especially suspension Haha Nothing wrong with using the tools you have, I am always amazed what a person can pull apart with a 3/8 socket set and a Philips screwdriver

You went well and best of all, I am sure you have encouraged other people to give it a go. A tip I seen when setting the bearing preload I guess you would call it, if you can find one of them old torque wrenches with the gauge and long pointer type dials put your big socket on and when you turn it will show the torque if that makes sense.

Hi as pervious posts never never work on a vehicle on a jack,if nothing else put your wheel under the cruiser in case it should fall you won't be squashed.

A quick easy tip, is put the tyre you removed under the car. Incase it comes off the jack, it won't fall all the way to the ground

Been answered many times before putting the tyre under the chassis does not stop the suspension from travelling and my 35" tyre does not fit under the suspension. You don't carry jack stands to change a tyre or offroad. Sure if you have safety devices use them but this isn't always the case learn to work safely, be aware of the hazards and don't become lax minded

Great job! The humor/reactions are the best. On the trail, I've set the bearing nut preload pretty close to what a spring gauge would measure by getting it to the point where the thrust washer barely moves from working a screwdriver tip against it. Birfields(cv) + full lock or close are always a fun combo with 4wd engaged. Cheers

I second the last comment, better jack and definitely axle stands your not built to survive a truck falling on you. I see the girls chicken up on your work quality control is good I see, love your dog I am a K9 lover I have two at the moment, was up to eight at one point all Sighthounds bar one Border Collie. How good is that tool kit of yours, shame you are not more accessible I have a ton of tools surplus to requirement now to go to a good home, really enjoy your content you make an old man smile, wish I had found one like you I could still be married, your a keeper girl.
