This video is about my last #hitchhiking journey in the USA. I travelled almost 1500 kilometres from #Indianapolis (#Indiana) to Philadelphia. Thanks to the 2 American-Punjabi truck drivers. You will also see an Indian restaurant operated by a Haryanavi person. People may call me anti national, I don't care. I love my country most but I have to admit that USA is USA. The rest of the world is one side and USA is another side. You may say they steal oil, there is no gun control, their president is a shit. Scandinavian countries may have more safety, Gulf countries may have more average income, Japan may have better technological knowledge, Germany may produce better automobiles but all together US is the best. It belongs to another league. You can feel the air of liberty, the essence of ultimate freedom. U can openly criticise national policies but no one would call u anti national or threaten u to go to Pakistan. Students marched against their own country for Vietnam war and people welcomed them warm heartedly. People feel proud of their first amendment that ensures their right of freedom of speech. America is truly the land of opportunities. Now, u can call me anti national if u are offended. Jai Hind 🙂

30% of truck drivers in US are Punjabis if I am not exaggerating. DMVs in California or other states also conduct a written test in the Punjabi language. When police code (23102 - Drunk driving suspect) conducts a DUI test (driver under influence) they use both Breathalyzer & Drugalyzer test. Alcohol Limit is 0.08% for drivers. As a son of a General, I have seen a lot of bloodshed in Kashmir & Punjab border. That is why we have bad relations with Pakistan. For civilians, it's easy to say stay in harmony with Pakistan they are not allowed to come in a war zone. They have no fucking idea how much troops killed in a month. I was in Kashmir in the year 1991 and we lose 5 to 10 soldiers each week in our unit. It's hard to forgive for families of soldiers who lost lives in the conflict between the two countries. Politicians have zero credibility in the eyes of soldiers. They don't want to resolve the issue because they need votes from this cause. But I also say common people don't want war. They want peace and harmony. God bless all.

Army is controlled by politics. Army men are not killed because people like killing army men and its a fun sport. It is a result of FAILURE of politicians to deal with Kashmir issue on BOTH side of the border. They use a political issue for vote , keep the issue burning for decade after decade and make more people angry ,frustrated. The result is a frozen conflict like Kashmir. Army deaths are DIRECT consequence of bad politics. So you should stop simplifying the issue. Army is ALSO a victim here ..every one of us is victim of this poisonous politics. Kashmir issue was , is and will be a politicial crisis which MUST be solved politically. Army can not solve it. When we realise THAT we will stop making excuses and deal with the situation. Army should ALSO realise this fact.

Brother, I am also from Army Background I know that Pak kills our soldiers but Its totally the wrong deeds of Pak Army, ISI and Government. They Spread Hatred against india because they have to hide their development faikure. Actually People are good and Interaction between common people of both countries can solve the problem

The biggest problem in India is ki yahan pe log Ko darr nai hai kisi Cheez ka....koi strictness nai hai traffic rules mein....log paise deke bhaag jaate hai ...police bhi apna kaam nai karti.....iss case mein Chandigarh bahut sahi hai ... wahan pe logo ke Dil mein darr hai ......I still remember once my brother had to cancel his meeting just because he didn't have helmet...so this fear of getting challan stopped him from going out on the road ...we should implement these rules all over India...

I am living in the USA and it still brought tears to my eyes to hear you say it was your last hitchhike. So glad I'm yet to see New York, but then you will be gone. Missing you already. You must come back to the USA, there is so much more to see. You saw America mostly from the perspective of the Trucking Industry, but you haven't begun to see what America has to offer. There are mountains, resorts, wealth and opulence, entertainment, and so many more states you didn't get to see. Go home, see your loved ones, tell your mom 'Hi' for me, I saw her when you did Mizoram, rest up a bit and on your next vacation, Do come back for USA part 2.

Answer is simple. Just like demonitisation. De-registration of driving license. Govt should give a 3yrs period. During which all will need to re-register driving license by giving exam just like in USA or Japan or Germany. Post that cut off year all old license will be cancelled. But before that.. All RTO must be revamped. And special traffic police squad will need to be prepared to check for defaulters. Employment generation bhi hoga.. And course correction bhi.

Indian's have to change there mindset. It took me 5 attempts to get license in USA you know why...it was very hard to change my mindset. Understanding road traffic, padesterian rules, learning how to let others go first based upon there priority is the law. People have accepted these laws right from there childhood. In India breaking the law is considered a great achievement and thats what we Indian's teach our kids.

India and Pakistan are like brothers who are fighting each other...but at the end of the day we are brothers who come from same roots...speak same or similar languages. We have shared history. We fought against british together. Few people on both sides are projecting hatred. I meet so many indians here in America whose families migrated from Pakistani side to India. I pray for both countries to progress and build a strong bond of friendship. P.S. Pakistani and Indian soldiers are about to excercise together in Russia.

One of the best episode I observed on USA. In a nutshell how Indians are doing on USA on ground level. I had lots of friends with white colour job but they are basically on stereotypes.Must say this one is different.. The people belongs to ground always treat, behave, laugh, guide, explain, jokes, express on jenuine language! Thnx Varun for this wonderful ground report.

It was great seeing the America flag in your store along with your country of origin. Just recently we had a Muslim to win an election, she showed her countries flag and not the American flag. Our country embraced and celebrated her victory. She should had been grateful. Sadly,, many foreigners are coming to our country nowadays and don’t appreciate the sacrifice that’s been made to enjoy our freedoms in our nation. They just want to make our nation like the one they came from. And that’s Wrong! We welcome all to our nation, but at least assimilate to some degree.

Out Of The Box I’m aware of what our nation did and I don’t honor it. However, your question doesn’t add value to the current challenge of many new immigrants coming to our nation. All I’m saying is to any immigrant that comes to America or any any nation that takes you in. Respect that nation and assimilate to some degree. And don’t try to make the nation you are living in like the one you fled or came from!

Extremely informative. Since you have so many subscribers & if they understand the reasons of your making this video am sure many lives can be saved. Am sure policy makers watch this as recently they have increased the axle load on trucks as people were already flouting norms. Enforcement is important which shall lead to fear of the law & respect for the fellow citizen.

Waiting on Saturday....Vlog came on Sunday....but koi nhi...Smile again. Amazing info shared here...and i would like to mention one most important thing....these TRUCKERS...are amazing let it be of any country,they are the saviours ....as they deliver goods to places that we all fear,be it desert or the snow capped mountains,its due to them only that people living in far of places are able to get their products of necessity...so hats off to all the TRUCKERS. Yes ,safety comes first so there should be norms for Truckers as well as other people so nobody is harmed due to accidents.... Nyc vlog as usual with amazing info as we all agree...and i cant keep myself saying...that PUNJABIYAN Di SHAAN WAKRI...they have there own style Statement.....to just spread love. Hukmaranon ko keh do ,ladna tumhara kaam hai.... Good morning Varunji. Very nice information about the laws and rules regarding road safety in the US. We also need to follow those rules here in India. I think we have got some strict laws but it's the lack of stricter implementation that offenders get away with. It's good to see that you had started getting lifts easily towards the end of your journey. You are a fighter and you have proved that. Thanks for the great video. It made my morning.

One big reason is rest stops on highways.. If I am sleepy I can pull over and sleep for a few hours in a safe location, freshen up, have a cup of tea or coffee and continue my journey

I remember that few days back, in Mumbai.. Court had ordered 3 youths involved in "KiKi Challenge" to do community service by educating other youths about the dangers of the challenge. In India things are definitely changing but It'll take some time, we're only few hundred years behind which can be reduced to few decades, if only people can think about others before themselves.
