Lateral incisors (smaller front teeth) are tiny teeth at the front, however, they are critical for a beautiful smile line.
The tracking issue happens quite often while my patients requiring extrusion of lateral incisors. There are couple of ways to get this resolved. However, this is one of the ways that I found quite effective and requiring the least efforts except of wearing elastics by patients for couple weeks.
In this video, I provide step-by-step instruction of how to apply the elastic and 1-week result from one of my patient. His tooth #10 moved about 1mm after a week with the above method.

I have this problem with extrusion of my right lateral incisor. If I ask my dentist to try this, will I be able to take the trays out for eating/drinking etc?

Yes, the elastic is removable. The only thing you would have in your mouth would be a button on the tooth as in the video. You can try chewy as well. It really depends on how big the gap is. Thanks for the question :)

I have this gap too, but it's very small for now. I asked my orthodontist about it and he said it's fine and that we're dealing with the more important elements right now -- mainly, the positioning of the back and side teeth. If I'm already seeing a slight gap (this incisor has only been pushed on for a few trays now), will it definitely get worse? Or could the tooth eventually find its place? Thanks in advance

Hello @dookdawg214, Do you have any attachment on the tooth? Personally, if the gap is fairly small, about 0.5mm. You can try to bite on the chewy every-time while seating the tray. Chewy would help the trays engaging better with the tooth. We provide chewy for our patients. You can get it from amazon as well. I do agree that usually we address the bigger issue first.
