Oh Lord, i’m about to start school for an MRI tech in the fall and now you’ve scared me🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m not good at math at all

I agree. I spent 4 months training at the hospital and I’ve been working at an outpatient center for 45 days and oh my goodness MRI is a beast. There’s so much to remember But it’s also what makes it so interesting. Keep up the good work 😊

I have been present at scans where a mirror is placed over the head coil such that it allows the back of the bore to be visible. (Strictly speaking about supine head/brain imaging). I’ve noticed this helps with claustrophobia - being able to see the end of the tube. However, I know this isn’t feasible in most cases. But, a nice hack if it were possible 😮

Are the physics hard to learn if you’re not to good at math

The math isn't too difficult in my opinion! The physics is challenging though to grasp, but once you do you're set!

My mom says MRI is EaSy 😖 NOT. She did it for many years that’s why 😂

thanks for sharing!!! I would like to know the difference between MRI technologist and MRI technician. Can a Technician do the job of a technician or vice versa?

MRI techs can only use mri equipment and ct techs can only use ct equipment. A person would have to train in each individually since they're both completely different even though they look similar

did you have your associates degree coming into this career and did you have to do IVs in your clinicals or training?

Did not have to do IVs in clinicals, and yes I have my associates degree!

Some country is a bachelor degree in radiology and you can be a mri tech, ct scan, x ray etc.

Im a British student interested in doing radiography and I’m curious as to whether mri techs in the US diagnose patients

No, only doctors are allowed to diagnose patients

@@ValenciaRose. interesting, in the uk we have diagnostic radiographers who look at the imaging, they identify what’s wrong and work alongside with/tell the doctor what the diagnosis from the scans show, but they cannot tell the patient directly

@@lovememoreeeee It's the same here. We give the radiologist our opinion but are not allowed to tell the patient.

No we don’t diagnose. We don’t get paid $300k/yr to diagnose.
