Hi Cath, that is very true, living alone, whether, single, or like widowed, is I believe is the same, I am also a widow, son is also now an adult, and we are living separately, and for like six years, I am enjoying living alone, doing my things, but it is not lonely❤

And I have an adopted cat and a dog too❤

A couple years ago I started to de clutter as I try to be as minimal as possible and those knickknacks you saw were some of my favorites so I kept them. You're lucky that your Mother raised you to be a homemaker, our home is our sanctuary, so we keep it the way we want it, nice and clean. This comment seems like you are describing me, haha! Except that i don't have children. I used to have an 8-5 job too and during the last 2 yrs before i retired i cannot already focus on my job, my mind is somewhere else until i decided to leave the workforce. Now, i am happy as ever 👍😀

@@cath7099 I'm happy for both you and I Cath for having the wisdom and courage to leave our jobs that meant to us. I had a falling out with my superiors. One day I just decided it was time to quit so I drafted my request for early retirement and at the end of 2022, I was tending full time to healing myself. The journey is messy but I love where I am now, enjoying my unhurried existence, travel when I can, see the few friends who remained true, and take care of the dogs and the house. Take you for sharing what's true.

2023 was very difficult for the family, my mother started to get sick in 2019 and i have to bring her often for medical check ups and sometimes she has to be hospitalized, i also worked full time at that time. Until i cannot anymore handle taking care of her while having a full time job and so i decided to retire in 2021. She passed away in March 2023. At that same time, my younger sister was also sick due to complications of breast cancer, I also took care of her a few months before she died because she did not want her children to see her health deteriorating. In short, they both died in the same year, only 4 months apart. The experience made me realize that life is short and we have to enjoy life while we can. God bless you for taking care of your disabled hubby. It's not easy i know. 🙂❤️
