As you undoubtedly know, Pasadena Audubon and other Audubon societies all around the country are named after 19th century artist John James Audubon, whose stunning portraits of North American birds have inspired millions to enjoy and help protect birds and bird habitat. Gregory Nobles is Professor Emeritus of history at Georgia Tech University, and author of John James Audubon: The Nature of the American Woodsman. Dr. Nobles is an expert in Early American history and environmental history, and is the recipient of numerous academic honors, including (of particular interest to us in the Pasadena area) being named Distinguished Scholar in Residence at the Huntington Library.
