The level up song reminds me quite strongly of the "making peace to build our future" line from We All Lift Together from Warframe. 🤔 But that might be just me being a big fan of that song.

Like most people in the comments, I recommend you play Kingdoms and Castles Tom! It has had a good amount of updates and development since launch and even mod support now so it is pretty polished! I have lost many hours of my life to it!

I would be very surprised if Tom doesn't know about Against the Storm. I just don't think it would be great for making videos on. A single settlement can easily take 2 or 3 hours to complete when you're new to the game. That's a lot of recording to be cut down to a 20 to 30 minute video.

So, Free Willie, friend of the wolves, makes periodic appearances in the background at 0:09, 17:54, 18:51 seemingly always surfacing just to briefly peek at the wolfpack and then vanish, and unlike the -Bad- _Red_ Dragons & Cthulhu, doesn't seem to attack anything, so I'm curious if there's something specific it does.

Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1501 A delightful little City Builder indeed :D always love these games and this one is a real gooden Goodness the levelling up is certainly extreme, compared to the rest of the game, a real jump scare there XD. I will say though that it is a damn good song Ok, hold up, Bad Dragon jump scare, was not expecting to see that in a Tom video XD Tom you dirty dog XD

@falleithani5411 it's not about originality. You're being purposely disingenuous. This game is just a store brand K&C. The gameplay is just a downgraded version and plays like back when K&C was in early access. All the models are also just lesser versions. The houses, the dragon, etc etc. Even copied the island starting position. This Dev asked to copy K&Cs homework and only bothered to change a few words.

@@LtColShingSides I'm not being purposefully disingenuous, I've never played either game, so I asked you for more information, restricted in scope to what's relevant to the subject. Thank you for clearing up more of the details. Given what you said, I agree that it's safe to say it's not a coincidence. As for your assessment? Maybe. Maybe they just liked the early access version better, and want _that_ game to still exist, so they made it themselves. That happens not infrequently, and I think it's a very good thing. It is human nature to assume foul play where none exists, so I try to counterbalance that by doing the opposite. Assuming the worst is an effective tool for survival, in a world where every rustling bush could contain a hungry lion, but it's not a good way to get at the truth of a matter.

@falleithani5411 my dude, it's not that deep. This game took the fundamental parts of another game, downgraded them, and put it out. Sure, city builders share alot of the same themes and mechanics. But each one has its own flavor. This game doesn't have its own theme or look. Go look at Kingdoms and Castles. This is a blatant ripoff.
