My Little Pony Rapunzel Custom - Recreating The Most Expensive MLP G1 Using a Blank Base (HQG1C)

Did you know that the My Little Pony generation one Rapunzel is the rarest and most valued? Now, although there's no replacing the original, you can also create your own version. This is what I did today, using a blank base, acrylic paints, some nylon hair, and some gorge3ous tinsel :) So, let me show you the process!

I honestly really love the idea of recreating absurdly rare collectors items. I’ve done it a few times for some absurdly rare plushies and I totally get the “it’s not official but it’s my baby.” The slight wonkiness adds charm!

I absolutely agree. I collect American girl Samantha stuff, and I could spend a lot of money on a tiny embroidered pillow or make my own tiny cross stitch pattern that's close enough and makes me happy to see, even with the imperfect nature of it

Shoutout to Little Starglow Ponies for making customizing a lot more easy and less painful as in not having to 'ruin' a perfectly fine pony or spending hours or weeks on end fixing an old retired pony.

That's beautiful, I never thought someone would make brand new generation one ponies! It's kinda smart, there are some around but they can't last forever, and it would be a shame, they are so cute, in a way they are classics

Most of the blank ponies seem to be sold out, and I'd feel bad customising an old pony (I'm too sentimental about toys 😅), but I don't mind waiting. You've inspired me to restore/rejuvenate some of my childhood ponies in the meantime. They're all gen 3, which I don't think I've ever seen you work on before, so it'd be cool to see that if you have any gen 3s lying around ❤

This is truly a gorgeous custom and you should be proud of yourself! That tensil really adds a lovely flare. Its also cool to know there is actual Rapunzel pony because I have a g3 Rainbow Flash with long hair and I’ve just been calling her Rapunzel pony this whole time😅

No this pony is so beautiful. I love your videos because you put so much effort into these ponies. This one is one of my favorites for sure. Lol and I don’t mind your hand in the camera. I like your technique. Not enough artists show their hand position when painting on canvases such as the body of a pony. Omg it’s difficult, for me it is at least. Love this! I love the little sparkly addition ^_^ I think for halloween a “jack-o-lantern” inspired design could be cool or a skeleton pony! Or if it’s not too scary, something inspired by a horror movie like hellraiser, freddie, scream. Or possibly trying to do oogie boogie from the nightmare before christmas. Would be pretty cool! I’d love to see how you would tackle that ^_^ those are the things that popped into my head :) Can’t wait to see what you come up with 😊 Take care xo

This is really cool! You did a nice job on the cutie mark considering what you had to work with, and the hair looks great!! The tinsel in the yellow hair is correct! I actually have this pony. My mom ordered her for me. She ended up played with a fair amount and her hair is all frazzled by now 🥲 So she's probably not worth as much as the ones you saw on ebay, but still cool to have. Your videos are inspiring, but I'd be too nervous to fix her up myself 😅

I only really noticed the first part of the title (I was in too big a hurry to click when I saw a new video from you, haha) and thought this was going to be based on the Disney Rapunzel. Learning about the official Rapunzel pony and getting to see you create your own variant was such a fun surprise! The result is so lovely. As for a spooky pony, maybe something based on a classic movie monster, since you've already done a mummy? Or just an original Halloween design from you would be really cool!

...I'm pretty sure my cousin had it, which means her mother threw it out or gave it away... Awesome custom, as always (to be honest, I like it more than the original), and great music! The blank looks so good, too - I wish there were G2 blanks! BTW, wouldn't it be easier to sketch the symbol on a small piece of carbon paper and then transfer the outlines to the pony? Ah, also: I don't want to be That Kind of a Person, but maybe you'd like to know that it's "to your heart's content". :)

Thank you so much! If you don't have UV, you can use the sun. Ideally, the salon cream and the sun, but even just sun will work. But it does take a few days/weeks/months!

Oh cool! I was trying to teach myself how to draw anime, but I didn't have a ruler since the 2020s to the present.. Thankfully, my parents gave me the rulers so I can try again! Thanks for that advice! Also, I'm going to high school in 2 days because I tried to make bodies, but sadly I haven't done the anime bodies. Soo I decided to move on! I know that my drawings aren't good because I don't have a ruler for them. Anyway, yes I do draw on my phone and my pc. But yours gave me inspiration! Also I'm deaf in my right ear, so yeah.. I don't know how to speak Japanese but I tried it in middle school. All I know is you can use the index finger to make a sign for a Japanese greeting "Konnichiwa!". I also found out that you can use your hands to sign alphabets in Japanese using your fingers! I'm so forwards to watching you do the customization of my Roblox OC, I also got a base for that! Seems like I need to buy a base for that and customize it! Also I do bases for every characters and make every OCs using bases. And I've been watching you since 2022!

Oh wow, that's so cool!! I would love to learn some Japanese. I've been practising using Duolingo (do you know the app?). It used to be quite difficult because to learn how to read, but now you can do it by "sound". The best way to learn, though, is to keep watching anime!! Good luck in school ☺️☺️ I hope you love it!

This Rapunzel pony is gorgeous! How about for Halloween doing a custom pony with a black pony base, orange eyes, a Jack-O-Lantern for the cutie mark, and orange, gold tinsel, and black hair? If you can find black and orange tinsel hair, that would be especially pretty on this custom project.

@@RetroGeekCrafts You're welcome! You could also do a black body pony with silver eyes, a ghost cutie mark, and black, silver tinsel and white hair. Tinsel hair for the black and white hair part would be gorgeous too.

I have a question: Have you ever done a Flutter Pony restoration? I have some but of course the wings are totally gone. 😅 I’d love to hear tips on how to fix that.
