Now that product development is almost done. The next steps are logo design, completion of the patent process, and lining up distribution before production. The last phase is identifying roles and staffing, or outsourcing marketing and sales. Ideally, there is a strategic partner that can save me from the staffing, sales and distribution side, but that search hasn't started yet. Stay tuned for more.

Rob, you want to vet the strength of your prototypes…give a couple of them to flight attendants. My wife has been a flight attendant for 40 years, I’ve never seen anyone that can beat a piece of luggage senseless like she can. Good luck with your venture.

I think the idea is the quality PLUS the unique feature. That's not insanely expensive to a lot of people. It's not really a bag meant for the lowest common denominator. I say that as someone who doesn't even look at luggage items this expensive and in fact frequently travels with banana boxes as luggage in my car.

Is the clean/dirty section literally the only unique feature of this luggage? If so, it won't succeed IMO. I literally just have a plastic bag (a zippered nylon bag if you want to be fancy) and keep it in your luggage for dirty clothes. The two compartments makes no sense because: a) no one wants their dirty clothes touching the luggage, and b) the dirty clothes get in the way of accessing the clean clothes, or vice versa. That being said, I really do admire your entrepreneurial actions.

My suggestion would be to make sure the wheels are very stout. I’ve bought three different name brand sets of luggage and the only real downside to them is the wheels blowout. I’m not talking about after they’ve been abused or 10 years down the road, I’m talking after three or four trips, the rubber always de-laminates off of the plastic wheel. I have since now upgraded them to inline rollerskate wheels, and have yet to have an issue with them.

Rob, production will take below timeframe… 45-60 days for material procurement. ~60 days for production and 60 days for ocean from Indonesia/vietnam. I doubt your buying from China - beware the trump tariffs if you are. I do this for a living and can help. You need a completely re worked interior pattern that stretch fabric is only half the issue. You will need to do durability testing in a lab to check burst strength on zippers etc.

Never thought I would see you get into the luggage business. I hope you all the best. I've done my fair share of going through luggage and have settled with Rimowa. They are not worth it for their price anymore but the smoothness of the luggage is no other. Im not too keen on soft luggage but it serves certain purposes. I would've incorporated the ability to be easily repaired on the user end as comments have suggested.

It’s an idea, but I feel it in idea that is already been solved by numerous different methods. I worked in the live music touring industry and we could be away for up to 3. Maybe even four months at a time our luggage was usually split compartments just like yours, it could be a mesh or a dividing panel. My Case was actually relatively hard plastic with a bit of flex and I still run it now. Most guys I come across, had a light, material, drawstring, laundry bag, all the dirty in there, throw it in one compartment of your case, no problem

Also, I think I understand prototype two with the thicker rubber type membrane over number one , lightweight material in prototype One always fails at the stitch line it just pullsand tears. only real way to solve that is using a thick protective border. The stitch goes through to stop the material pulling

I'm not a huge traveler so you can either market with looks like a label (lv, Gucci etc) or physical looks (racing stripes and polished wheels). marketing on durability doesn't matter. Novelties like separating clothes is not going to drive me to purchase. The fit and finish of the telescoping handle is an easy judgement point. If it looks and feels like an iPhone 15 titanium then I'll say the luggage as a whole is prob built to a high spec. If it feels like Samsung chrome plated plastic, I'll prob think it should be Walmart quality. You still haven't told me what problem you've solved and why I should take action to buy? There's no impetuous. Look up a gearwhores bag.
