this might be a slight spoiler soooo SPOILER WARNING : when nanami first punched the blond haired character, he didnt "think" he died. He was correct in saying that he would 100% be dead if not for his curse technique.

Just in case you need a little clarification on it Alana, that granny (as a medium) can, using a corpse(or part of one) transform herself or a subject like her grandson into that corpse, taking their physical appearance and attributes, but retaining the host's "soul" or their mind, free will, intentions, etc. When she incarnated Toji into her grandson, Toji made that point in their conversation saying that his "body is kinda special" in that all of his power is, essentially, in his body because of the heavenly restriction. And because Toji is bonkers strong, with just his body, he overpowered the soul of the grandson and essentially took it over for himself.

I kind of took it something like Tojis body being physically gifted but his heavenly restriction being tied to his soul. We know in universe that powerscale, pacts and restrictions have a sort of self balancing system so maybe as a “correction” to the anomaly Toji’s soul was resurrected as well. But thats just speculation

Also the technique has a built in limiter. When the summon runs out of cursed energy the technique is released. But then Toji doesnt have any cursed energy to exhaust....

I find it cool that the name of the episode is ‘Dull Knife’ because of Nanami’s Cursed Technique, knowing the Golden Ratio of anything he sees. His hand is a dull knife that can basically cut through anything if he wanted it to. Kinda like Escanor having his greatest weapon be his finger lol also a cool thing about the bad guy in this episode, his purple markings below his eyes disappeared one by one each time he was supposed to ‘Die’! Nanami’s final Falcon Punch hopefully took out three lives at the same time!!

Nanami is efficient, determined, and pissed as hell when his allies get cooked, AND HE DOES FIRST AID!! Its one of my pet peeves that anime characters never seem to try even basic first aid, and frigging Nanami Kento comes through with it! (That said I am terrified that he's going to die, because the nonspecific miasma of doom leaching through the fandom from the manga-readers is palpable. 😰)
