A colorful legendary divewatch, because the price and the reputation it's a must in every EDC collection, personally I like it more than the 007. A shame the bracelet but. You have to buy one for your self pal, it's a charm!. Thank you and your good friend for the un boxing!!

I bought my 013 version last year from Creation Watches and have been very happy with it. The choice of dive watches at 38mm is very limited but it is great that Seiko manufacture a smaller version of the SKX.

I got my SKX009k1 on sale for $125 BNIB ~2yrs + years ago.. it has been my favorite since day 1 so much watch for so little money.. I just put mine on a miltat super oyster ii bracelet which it very nice indeed. such a classic style having been around for so many years.. keep making them Seiko they are brilliant cheap and cheerful.

I have the black face with black bezel insert and love it. It is all the watch I could ever need, and it's reputation is well deserved.

Love my 009k2 and I must say, that jubilee bracelet is a god send for those of us with 8+ inch wrists. Excellent video and an "early welcome" to Team SKX as I know you already have the bug now lol

I have the 007. Solid watch and deserve it's reputation. During the summer I use a NATO (both Bond's). I replace the band during the fall. It does rattle but it's super comfortable. I like the floating second hand. Really cool watch

Grab a Super Jubilee mate, it completely upgrades the feel on the wrist.. up to par with the legendary skx case!

I just picked one up from Creation - waiting (im)patiently for it to arrive! My wrists are sub-7", but hopefully I can still pull it off. Don't love anyone to allow them to take the plastic off it though - that's all going to be my pleasure. :P

The jubillee bracelet is most comfortable. When you would measure it and wear it for a day you would agree. The non hacking is no problem because you can stop de second hand by turning the crown back a bit and hold it for the exact time setting.

Definitely go for the 007, i got the 013 for my 6 1/2 inch wrist, and it wears just right, but i feel if my wrist was any bigger it might look a tad bit small. (I do not at all wish i had the bigger model instead, however) For a dive watch, I think too big is the preferable aesthetic as opposed to too small. That being said, the larger size certainly does not look too big on your wrist here, mate :)

Seiko's Jubilee is of course famously not as good as the watch it's attatched to. But I like that Seiko cut corners on the strap you'll probably replace anyway instead of the watch itself. And honestly...maybe a slightly flexy, rattly bracelet is more comfortable?

Never had a J with alignment issues, but the majority of the Ks I have had have had problems. When the chapter ring AND the bezel insert are out it really is awful to the eye.

Check out the sinobi watches, I bought the 44 mm all dark blue dial & bezel! It is low profile on the wrist & the bracelet is very nice,all solid links ! The case seems to be bead basted & not bad lume ! It is a homage to the omega sea Master & is water proof ! I think I paid under $ 30.00 dollars from Amazon it is a real good looking time piece for the money !&it doesn't look cheap @ all ! I get a lot of compliment on this watch & they cant believe the low price !!

there are 3 seikos must haves. A skx009, a 1st gen monster and a Blumo.

I will always keep my beloved SKX 009 purely for the fact it doesn't have hacking. I've had hours of fun getting precise time adjustment on it which I've now got off to a fine art. I've recently got a Seiko land watch with a 4R36 movement and it's absolutely no fun at all. This is what, I believe, makes the SKX so iconic and I love it so much. Quick Tip - To alleviate the feeling of utter dread when sitting in a dentists waiting room - log on to an atomic time website on your mobile phone and try adjusting your SKX to the precise time to match the time on the aforementioned website - it works TRUST ME!

Yes, your right. The Skx does have a huge reputation. But, dealing with Seiko Watches, I think the Seiko 5 have a better reputation...just a thought.

I've never handled one of these myself. Sacrilege, I know. Maybe one day, though. I've leaned from my snzg15 how much I really value hacking and hand winding. I've done a heart transplant on my snzg and replaced the 7s36 with an NH36 and I'm much happier with it now. If I pick up one of these I'd probably want to do the same thing.

That bracelet is so comfortable, just forget the criticism.

Can't compare hardlex to sapphire scratched my new skx in a week no idea how, I have a 25 yr old tag heur sapphire that's been to hell and some still flawless . hit it with rocks garden spades diy, unmarked.

Did you just call it the Great Wave Off Kanagawa? Sigh. It merely shares similarities and at best draws inspiration from Hokusai's woodblock print for some coincidental marketing value for cultural association. The wave is actually from the back of the Seiko Silverwave which was their first serious diver (though not ISO compliant) before the professional 62mas. Until the Silverwave, the size and number of waves indicated a watch's water resistance. Shallow squiggly line waves meant splash resistant, one wave meant 5 bar, two waves meant 10 bar, and all of the waves were left-to-right which is more aesthetically intuitive. When the Seiko Silverwave and subsequent divers debuted, the wave was upgraded to a very big open ocean wave. Calling the wave on the back of Seiko divers The Great Wave Off Kanagawa is bit of misinformation based on cultural projection that has been perpetuated throughout the community. The only official recognition of Hokusai I can find of Seiko is in a Credor model last year. I don't want to unsubscribe to your channel because of it but I'll give you a pass and not click like or dislike. The engagement of this comment is enough.
