285/70r17 are only 32.6" tall whereas 285/75T16 tires are 34" tall. I am putting size 285/75R27 nitto recon grapplers on my new black rhino matte bronze colored wheels. I am also putting new bfgoodrich all terrain T/A ko2 size 285/75R17 tires on the stock rims that came on my 2024 colorado ZR2 truck. Will runnthem on my truck through the winter months in northeastern tennessee by the tru cities.

I almost bought tgw new bfgoodrich k03 but my local ture store has not been getting them in stock yet. I almost bought the Falken wildpeak AT4W tires.

@harolddenton6031 Thanks for watching. I considered the BFG's. Too pricey when there are tires just as good for far less money. We don't get much winter weather around this area, so that wasn't within my thought process.

I was eyeballin' that tire but in a narrower section width [ LT255-80-17 ] but didn't due to the size of the tread blocks. This is a hybrid of an M/T and an A/T, so, yeah... I get it. Just know that if you're gonna keep these tires as quiet as they can be ya gotta rotate them at LEAST every 5000 miles, if not more often than that. I've had success achieving even tire wear across my 285/70-17s using a 5000 mile rotation schedule. Thanks for your video.

I 100% agree. I am a fanatic about rotating my tires before they start cupping. I've had them rotated once since filming this video. They now have approximately 4,800 miles on them and they are still quiet as a mouse in church.

I subbed so that I can keep up with the updates on these tires. Looking for something to replace my Goodyears with when the time comes. That is the only gripe I have with my 22 Trail Boss and it's easy enough to change once those Goodyears wear out.

I've got about 120 road/towing miles on them now. I can honestly say they are a comfortable tire. No shake in the steering wheel, no road roar and they stop my landscaping trailer with ease. Don't do much if any offloading so I'm not a good gauge for that sort of thing. Thanks for subbing. I'll try not to disappoint.
