Such a sweet video. Remember a messy house means you have babies at home. As an empty nester, I miss the mess-clean means the babies are grown --. I’m recovering from ankle surgery and I just long to be taking care of my house. Housework is a joy -it means I’m much better

I owned a gift store in a mall for 20 years so more is more and less is a bore. So I have a tree in the living room, that I made a woodsy look, a whimsical one in the kitchen all food themed, one in the office with all glass ornaments and a kid tree with ornaments they made when they were little. The kid tree , 4 kids all grown with 4 grandkids now is very special to me and its interesting how they always check to see how it looks and how I decorate it each year. Your tree is very unique and I love that you like to have one that you make your own each year.

I have five trees. The tree in our formal dining room is my nostalgia tree. We have four children who are all grown with families of their own. The theme for this tree includes all of the homemade, school and Sunday school crafts they made through the years. Now I am adding our grandchildren contributions. So fun.

When i was younger and the kids were home, I had 7 trees. One in every main room of the house. All were different sizes and shape, and each had a different theme. The one in the living room was always the family tree and it changed every year, then there were bird trees, angel trees, kitchen trees, music trees, etc.

I love your design aesthetic! I like the more simple natural Christmas that you have done here. I really like that you couldn’t find what the vision in your head was, and that says to me that you have your own design ideas and won’t be doing the trendy things. Yay! So elegant and pretty. You can still see a tree. So many people seem to overdo it with Christmas decor on every surface, and so much on a tree, that you can’t tell it’s even a tree. I am so glad to hear you say this living room tree is for you.... but the kids have their own trees. My son is now 50 and I had a tree in his room every year while he was growing up. I decorated it for whatever was going on in his life at the time... little league.. Star Wars, airplanes.. all his little phases. He still remembers that. I love everything in your moody room. I am definitely going to try those ginger ink ornaments.. gorgeous!!! The entire room is cozy, tranquil and peaceful.

We have a family tree in the family room with all the child-memory ornaments and homemade ones. The other rooms in the house have trees I decorate to go with the room. LR, DR, Kitchen, Entryway, bedroom, The kids room has trees that thy have carte blanch with. Your decorations are absolutely beautiful!

Gotta say, I love this unconventional Christmas look. You nailed the amber ornaments. And I 🖤 their companion. Maybe next year, you can photograph Luke in a moody pose and add him to the other two foxes on the wall. I know you protect J-Man, but I’d love to see his reaction to the trees at night. Magical. And wondering *how many times you cussed* setting up the pinecones in the fireplace, which came out gorgeous as did the piano, and the mantle…and I love the artwork on your tv frame. You have a beautiful home. I had artificial Christmas tree's growing up. When I married my husband insisted on a real tree because they never had a fake tree growing up. It really is a lot less work to have a real tree. Just put it in the stand, snip the twine that they tie it up with and that's it, just water and add your decorations. I can't even imagine having to put the tree together from a box. The smell of a real tree is amazing and it fills the house with pine for weeks and weeks. Happy Holiday's to you and yours.

The best thing about faux tree is you can decorate and enjoy longer. You can also buy some fresh pine branches to put in a vase on table etc. That would give a nice aroma.

I have three trees in my house. A formal decorated tree in the main living room that you can see from outside, and matches the rest of the main floor decorations. Then we have a traditional family tree in the 'family room' decorated with ornaments collected from family vacations, heirlooms passed down from my grandparents and great-grandparents, ornaments I made before I was married and ones that my kids have made in elementary school. We also have a third tree which is decorated with musical-themed ornaments that my husband received from his music students.

When my kids were young we did the traditional family tree in the living room that the entire family took part in decorating on Thanksgiving evening. We put on Christmas music and drink non-alcoholic Wassail for the kids and hot toddies for the adults. The guys in the family put up the Christmas lights on the house the week before Thanksgiving so they're ready to turn on Thanksgiving night. I always had some extra much smaller trees scattered around the house I decorated in themes for various rooms - that filled my love of decorating trees - y way. But Christmas, in my family, is truly about the kids (& making sure they understand why it's celebrated) so the main tree was all about their enjoyment and oh how they loved to show off their handiwork. My daughter had the special task every year of sitting on her dad's shoulders & adding the angel to the top of the tree. Our son's task was flipping the switch to turn on the outdoor lights to start the Christmas season officially in our home.

I have themed trees throughout due to so many ornaments given to me by my students and colleagues through the years. Many are handcrafted like the wine cork ornaments on the wine tree in the kitchen. My nature tree is always animals and plant ornaments to represent all of the “causes” I donate to. Birds, sea life, dogs, planet…Travel tree has ornaments from trips etc.

I love the prints you framed. You know that you can paint brush strokes here and there mimicking what the artist would have done with gel medium and give them the look of a real painting. I also liked what you did with the ornaments. Unique.

I have my main tree and then each of my kids has their own smaller tree that they get to decorate any way they want. It's a lot of trees with 4 of them but it's a lot of fun.

Interesting...I like your DIY pictures, amber glass bulbs and swag. I am a single senior now so use a Fau smaller full tree and instead of decorating with individual ornaments, I used a swag in which I decorated with everything I'd hang on the tree. then wrapped it around the tree diagonally, including small twinkle lights. looks great and I can use it every year. Merry Merry!

I had only one tree for years, but in the last ten years I have more then one. A big one , a four foot one, by the entry door, and a one foot one with tiny ornaments . I have many ornaments, so I changed the theme every year on my four foot tree, and the one foot one.

When my children were young we had a big main tree that was artificial, but high quality and 8 1/2 feet and could slowly rotate and was pre lit. We also had a much smaller real tree that had all the ornaments my children had made.

We have three trees. The family room tree, ornaments are more rustic, many handmade. A kitchen tree, smaller, this year a gingerbread theme that will go more woodsy next year. Ornaments going to a granddaughter who loves to bake. Thee living room, a formal tree, collected glass ornaments, some from my childhood, and I'm 75!

We had a similar issue with a window being in a pride of place location where we wanted to do more of the display we simply purchase two sheets of wall paneling in the faux brick from Menards and tacked it temporarily to that window space to cover it during the holiday season we then place the mirror in the artwork and all the gallery wall items we wanted in that area. You may want to take a look at Rebecca Robinson's channel kenwoven you can still put mirrors and items right there especially because you have that wood in between the two you can just lean it there and choose large pieces of art to take up that space.

I definitely got great inspiration from this video. This year we havev3 trees. One I decorate. One small table top for kitchen area and one in front room for family ornaments more classic red and white Christmas ornaments. Home etc.

Commenting on the amount of trees, I only have one main one, you can see it from the street, when you enter my home, and it has all the ornaments I have gotten over the years, and yes, even the precious ones my children made 30 some years ago ! It still keeps the 1890's look I love. I would love to have one in the kitchen and bedrooms, but with a 1400 square foot home, not possible. I love your creativity !

People always think I’m crazy for having more than one tree. But I do the same thing you do! We keep one in the dining room that the kids decorate and it has all the hand made family ornaments and then the tree in the living room is all mine to decorate. 😂

Having a real Christmas tree is not that much work. Did it my whole life and it's worth it. It's a wonderful experience for children. Way better than a fake tree. You won't regret it!

Oh, love moody colors all year round, so really was inspired! Incidentally, we’ve always had a real tree and I think it’s easier than a fake. No branch fluffing needed. But it IS pricey.

I don't have time to get down a tree, much less 2 or 3 of them. My tree still isn't fully decorated, and there are still tree and ornament boxes all over the living room. But I do love watching. Your ideas are fun and look amazing. I have a dream of an all-white snowflake ornament tree with snow on the tips of the branches, so it looks like something out of a snowy forest wonderland. Maybe someday when I'm retired I'll have time

Absolutely stunning! Yes, we have multiple trees. One is a gold colored metal tree that I use all year with different ornaments. When our kids were little they each had a small tree in their room. They could decorate with their handmade ornaments. That allowed us to have a more aesthetically pleasing tree in the living room. Your sofa with its back to the kitchen looks v well - but I would put a console table across the back of the sofa. One to block the back of sofa and two to give you somewhere to add decor on the console etc.

I do a traditional xmas tree with green red and gold bulbs but I put up a black Halloween tree with orange bulbs..i love Halloween it's my favorite!

Very elegant. Used to have real trees but allergic now. I have all types of mini and bottle and flocked, also ones outside for birds to take shelter in. Iften people put them at curb and i go get them.
