In this video I am going to show you my Mordheim board build which takes place in the world of Warhammer.
The Warhammer Old World has always been a passion of mine, especially the tabletop wargame called Mordheim - City of the Damned and having this board done is a dream come true for me!
There will still be videos where I will add to the board going forwards but for now it is a time to celebrate this 4x4 foot wargaming board!

I use cardboard as a pallet for dry brushing. It works better than a paper towel for removing the exceess paint from the brush

My fiancé sometimes doesn't understand why I look at my crafts after I finish them with pride, just staring for 2 hours... I totally get the sense of satisfaction you had. That tabletop looks absolutely amazing. Stunning!

I LOVE the idea of airbrushing Army Painter shades for grime layers! Brilliant! Looking AMAZEBALLS! I can’t believe how much work you put into this. Thanks for filming and showing it all so we have a real idea how much time this would take us. I like the flashes of recipes on the screen. Great way to quickly explain what you’re using without taking the time to explain each bit. Cheers, mate!

Hahahahaha! I figured! I speak often with Nate over at Nate's Miniatures and we often reflect on how different we handle the weather! I would wear a t-shirt in 15 degrees whereas he would have a coat! And during the summer you will find me laying in a pool of sweat somewhere in the shade! 👍😂

Awesome table Leif! Definitely captured that classic Mordheim atmosphere. I think not doing a resin pour for the canal was the right call, it allows the canal itself to be playable area.

The patience and commitment shown here is outstanding! As a crafter myself, I have turned to clay with textured rollers. Individual bricks give me PTSD. The end result here is spectacular! Leif, you are a hero of the realm! Keep it up!

Shame I can only give this one like, deserves so many more. 17 mins flew by.. its absolutely stunning, I got a little emotional at the end and glassy eyed. This is the kind of immersive game environment people dream of, you should be proud, I think its a masterpiece. Individual bricks was the way to go, no Mordheim terrain should be complete without fish of some kind. I like the muddy canal.. another place to fight, flee, die horridly. I could spend hours looking at this too .. love it. Hope to see more of this in the future, and not just me rewatching this video over and over.

This is incredible, a great inspiration! i was cracking my head trying to find how to make a canal in my board without spending a fortune and never thought about it being dried up. That was a great idea, just a few puddles and mud and it look amazing! and playable. Amazing board

That's a real labour of love Leif. You're right to be proud of it, it's stunning! If you need to cut large boards in future, the clamp is a great idea, but what makes it even easier is increasing the surface area of the proxxon's bed by stacking up books around it, so they support the sheet as you push it through 🙂

I can't believe I missed this video!! Fantastic work! A few techniques I found to not have so much tedium with cobblestone etc is some air drying clay mixed with PVA and a textured roller. Also, I was lucky enough to find thin cork sheets with adhesive backing which I cut to desired shape and size and can just smack them on in order. When you cover everything with the mod podge and black paint it holds them in very securely. Lovely stuff, my friend. Maybe we'll see some Tötalitär posters hidden among the streets?? Cheers!!

I have been working on a Mordheim board for months... and had never spared a thought for graffiti and posters. Thank goodness that is something that I can add later! Awesome job, looks like a lot of fun to play on. (Our board also has canals, wet and filled with yuck. (And a tentacled monster mini makes an appearance if someone is unlucky when they fall in the yuck.)
