Hey Jack! Victor Herringer was a great writer, and besides "The love of singular men" he won the Jabuti prize for writing the book "Glory". Now, you see, the Jabuti prize is huge for us brazilian literature lovers. I'd love if you keep in touch with our culture and writing, and maybe make a video about it. I know you've read Clarice Lispector, but you must get to know other names! Machado de Assis, Jorge Amado (a personal favourite of mine), Lélia Gonzalez, Conceição Evaristo!! We have so much to share about racial literacy, gender discussions, wealth and poverty, etc. Thank you for the video

Jaaack! I’m going to keep commenting this until you read this haha - I strongly recommend the book “Some Strange Music Draws Me In”. I’m just finishing it now and it’s my favourite book I’ve read this year, even (just slightly) above Blue Sisters. It’s a trans coming of age story jumping between 1984 and 2019. This book is SO underrated and no one is talking about it!

Not sure if you’ve read it, but if you are interested in the way authors write about flowers and how to incorporate them in a novel read “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart” by Holly Ringland. An intense book about grief and finding oneself, with a chapter named after a flower and its meaning that intertwines into that particular chapter itself. The book was also made into a tv series on Prime, but no where near as good as the book!!
