I'm bored of most social media platforms except for KZfaq. I occasionally check my Facebook and reads some Reddits, but often I feel that if I have time to read social media I have time to do something constructive instead.

KZfaq is different because you can create your own bubble and go ever deeper into certain fields. It's also much more educational if you like educational videos.

It's not a detriment to your health as much as it's a detriment to your potential (future you). Everything you enjoy or don't enjoy in life is the result of your decisions. Everything propagates from them. The more you act in the real world and not through a screen, the more you'll change to make it enjoyable. It doesn't take long to live in a world you'll enjoy, and the more you live in a world you enjoy the more you'll ask yourself what you can do to make your perpetually future self as happy as you want to feel. Life is about convincing yourself you want to gain momentum, which involves accepting death. That's hard. But the sooner you do the math on what the average life expectancy is, and add it to the year you were born, the better off you'll be. That sense of urgency is evidence that you want momentum and it'll give you the push you need. Because the sooner you get the ball rolling, the more momentum you'll build.

Aww pooey...time to click off. But seriously. Social media is addictive by design, and can negatively impact the quality of one's life...however, that doesn't necessarily mean that's always the case. For instance, I listened to this entire podcast and found it to be very insightful and provided me with a better understanding on many topics that the masses should be more informed or made aware of. I consider that a net positive. And that goes for the majority of the social media I consume. It's typically education in some form, discussions on current affairs or various trending topics that affect our daily lives, etc etc...and I usually do so with it playing in the background as I go about my day. I would argue in that sense, it's a net positive.

idk man, social media introduces me to some pretty cool people with based assertions... Otherwise, I would never have known as much about Liv and the tragedy of the commons.

There are some positives to social media but they are MASSIVELY outweighed by the negatives. It's bad for people and bad for society. When meta finally dies I will be so happy

Finding non-zero sum games is so difficult in some parts of the world. I actually think the American Dream is boiled down to having a society with as many of them as possible for as many as possible. Now I'm thinking about it, maybe that's what the whole idea of Western Civilisation is about.

I don't know how people get addicted to social media. I was a heavy user and got bored of it in 2 3 months and deleted all my social media accounts except work related. I don't feel any urge to go back and seeing people so addicted is mind boggling since there are not fun in it neither it is good for you. Only bad and bad, why would you use it?

Look she's definitely attractive but she's more of a tough biker woman who kicks ass, so I'd be careful calling her babe or baby or anything like that, js.

@@phantomapprentice6749 I mean, I believe you lol but calling someone a babe, that's just a general way of calling somebody sexy and that you're attracted to them. I've heard ladies call very tough, masculine guys that they are attracted to babe and I've heard masculine, tough guys say it about the women they like attracted to, dress-wearing, pretty ones and tough, biker chicks lol obviously I don't speak for everyone, but in my head, I was straight calling her sexy due to a combination of intelligence and being straight fucking pretty haha
