My MSFS Setup!

Here is a quick look what and where I make my Microsoft Flight Simulator videos. Logitech flight gear with TrackIR. Please let me know what you use and what specs you are using. My PC specs below.
Processor: AMD 5800X3D
Graphics Card: AsRock 6800xt
Motherboard: ASUS Strix X570-I ITX
Memory: 32gb GSkill DDR4 3600
Hard Drive: 1TB NVME Gen 4
Power Supply: Corsair 1000W Gold
Case: Fractal Torrent Nano
Graphics card is overclocked and undervolted to keep things fast, cool, and quiet.

Nice! I use a gamepad controller and TrackIR... plus a couple monitors for Little Navmap or SkyVector on the side. :) Thumbs Up!

I used to just use my game pad and it is surprising how well it works! A second monitor would be a nice addition for me. Thanks for watching!

Good looking setup ! Great Channel ! My setup is Honeycomb A + B based system with Logitech pedals. I5 13600K & 4070ti, 43" 1440p monitor with trackIR5. Allso I use Airmanager & knobster wiht two 10" touch monitors. Mainly GA planes.🛩

That’s awesome! I think I would prefer the honeycomb but when it came to buy it was the height of COVID and they were either out of stock or at scalping prices!! Your setup sounds amazing!

Honestly the key bindings are all pretty much set from Logitech. You can configure the yoke buttons to do what you like and there are 6 buttons on the bottom of each of the throttle quadrants but otherwise it just links to MSFS without issue. Some people will use a 3rd party payware program to setup up complicated key mappings but I find for the majority of aircraft this works out great as the default. I don't want to make a profile for each aircraft.

Man, that's so neat and tidy. I have a joystick sitting on a small stepladder between my legs and I'm leaning forward more than 2 ft at a 45 degree angle just to type this sentence and likewise to reach my throttle. So jealous right now. Thanks for sharing though as you might have inspired me to get my act together and finally fabricate a proper setup to hold my gear.

Thanks! I slowly built it up and tried a lot of variations as I got more panels. My dad still uses a joystick and does fine but he recently came out to visit and is now going to get the same setup! 😂

@@sprocketsimulations joystick is good for me because I am a fan of aircraft like the Da62 and the cirrus jet primarily which are stick controlled. But I do admit those auto pilot panels and others are looking tasty.

awesome setup. i think i have even less space 😂 so i have the vkb joystick and their three throttle, autopilot, and “sem” control modules that attach to it. from storage to setup in like ten seconds! thinking about upgrading from 27” to a larger monitor though.

As much as I would love to go VR, which I mention in the video, it makes all the panels useless at that point. I can still use throttle yoke and pedals but no much switches and dials to physically control.

@@sprocketsimulations you wouldn't see your displays but pressing buttons is easy, I do it and I tell you, Vr is worth it.

Do you have the same panels? Or similar. I’m sure muscle memory will get you there but hitting things like the lights and switching com/NAV/XPR will be a pretty steep learning curve. I’m pretty sure my 6800xt and 5800x3d could handle a VR headset. I have heard the G2 is the way to go vs others.

would a 4060 ti with a core i7 13700kf do over 50 fps in msfs vr?

No idea, there are way too many variables such as headsets, settings, upscaling, all sorts of things. I would say that would be difficult to do on any of the newest headsets though. Best bet is to ask on the MSFS official forums to see if anyone is using that setup. Mainly the GPU and what headset they have. Fair warning, like I mention in the video, it is not plug and play and this game takes a lot of tweaking and 3rd party programs to get the most performance.

does your second throttle quadrant come with a usb?

It does. If you buy the quadrant separately it will be usb. The included quadrant connects to the yoke with a ps2 style connector.

Great setup but doesn't the constant bright red glow from the computer fan etc just get in the way, so to speak?

The big front fan you can’t even see at the desk and the others are not as bright as they might seem. No distraction for me. The panels are brighter.

@@sprocketsimulations It just looks so distracting, sitting on the desk right next to your monitor. I presume you shut off the lighting when doing a night-flight.

No, I leave it on. Like I said the panels are actually brighter than the case itself. Not distracting at all. Also the monitor has very good black levels and I have it tuned so it doesn’t look washed out at all for night flights.
