I have a theory. This game is meant to represent the mental health implications of lockdowns and quarantines, and the deep trauma in society post-pandemic. The main character is going through a period of mental decline, just like his friends and neighbors. Being on lockdown means no church, no movies, no hangouts, and no visiting your friends and families, and no attending their funerals caused people to go through the same mental health problems as the main character did. The game is mostly psychological, and everything we see is mostly hallucinations caused by his mental decline.

Honestly thought I had Cabin Fever at one point. Wasn't at work and couldn't see anyone. Most of my hobbies were social or going out so I was stuck in the house. Everyday I grew more tired of the decline of how active I once was and I started to feel crazy at times. Little things were getting to me like a tick of sort. Once I could get back out to work it's all I wanted to do to get away from the house and see/interact with people again. Even if it had to be done differently.

@@Saelria I feel that. It it gave me cabin fever and caused my anxiety and depression to get way worse as well. Now I always have anxiety no matter what and it feels like the repercussions of it will never go away. And at the time, we had just moved to a new town and I was looking forward to making new friends (Since my friends from my old town were assholes and didn't really want to hang out with me anymore.) and then that went down the drain so it just made everything worse. I'm glad things are better now but that was just three years of unnecessary bullshit that nobody should ever have to go through again.

Alright so my theory for this game is that, the game infested your mind making you play the game, the circut braker never really went out but we were imagining it was. And that how the virus got us to go outside and catch it, after that every event was just hallucinations and we actually never left the apartament.
