I'm glad I watched this video, I'm thinking of buying a 98 Progres, happy you pointed out the brake pump issue, I would have had no idea what that weird noise was and good to know it's not a huge issue

Many familiar parts in that car... climate control is straight out of an SC430! I think that awkward cut out next to the shifter is where the navi controls would go. Jealous of how cheap nice cars are there! I miss living in Okinawa.

Interesting, I've always wanted to buy an SC430. Maybe my next car!... Maybe. And yes, there are a ton of great cars out here for little money.

If you look at another car try looking at the Toyota Brevis, extremely smooth ride with the same 3.0l straight six as the Progres but much more refined, widescreen navigation is standard aswell as a 7 speaker premium audio. Also about the same price

I have the same but I have problems with the control level when you have started the engine it fails to read properly from O it goes to 1 then 0 again it can't stand between 1 and 2 so how can I solve this problem

I owned this last year but it was a nightmare for me, fuel consumption too much and it kept breaking down often

Got one - keep it in power mode with trc off - best fuel (y) Fit lower wider Dunlop Dreza tyres and go have fun in it (y) I thrash it within an inch of its life regularly :-)

+OMGodfrey I'd love to bring it back, but US law requires that the car be 25 years old before you can import it into the country. I have been looking at some older Toyota luxury sedans to bring over though; Cresta, Chaser, Crown, etc.

What's the sound system like?

Good question- I didn't show it in this video. The sound is good, clear, fairly balanced. I have the bass and treble boosted slightly. I wish it got louder, but overall it is very good. Not as good as a GTI's sound system and not nearly as good as the dimension stereo in the Hyundai Veloster, but it is better than most economy car stereos.
