2019-2020 Kia Forte is a very good commuter car. Looks good, has great fuel efficiency and comes with the longest warranty. Take it to the dealership and get that issue resolved.

You should have used a Kia oil filter (based on the pic), they are made very well and you can void your warranty if you don't use it. Just spray it down with Lysol...

I have the 2019 Forte EX. It has a similar rattle somewhere on the right side in the door panel or dashboard. I can't pinpoint it neither the dealer. I can hear it on certain bumps, on abrasive roads ready for resurfacing or or when a car with a loud droning exhaust passes by. I've learned to live with it.

I had a brand new KIA forte Koup back in 2012 and my cluster went out along with radio at 3155 miles, then again at 15,311 miles took to the dealer for repairs and they did fix it , however when they reprogramed the cluster for how many miles the car had they put 3155 miles.

Hi, I had this kind of rattling noise on my nissan rogue one time. For long time I could not figure it out. Went to few garage they thought it was from timing belt so they changed it but same problem. Later I went to one garage asked him to lift my car up. So the problem was, a clip/ clamp was broken or was missing from muffler. It was supposed to hold it in place. since it was missing and in low speed it makes more sound but on highway it doesn't. I hope it will help you.

2020 forte EX here. I bought it used with 19k miles, and noticed a kinda creeking/rattle noise when I mostly make turns going 10-20 mph. It sounds like it comes from the back end but it’s been really tough to pin point. im curious if this is the same thing your hearing. Im due back at the dealer soon for an OC which is free so I’ll ask them about it. Hoping it’s nothing serious.

You weren't exactly specific on the noise or location.... unless I missed the location of the sound. I've noticed for about 1k miles now that I get a sound like something rolling around and clunking in my trunk or something shifting in the suspension. It only happens about 2 seconds after I pull away from where I'm parked, not again until I park again.

Sounds like interior panels can be making the noise. I heard that is common on Kias. Mechanical wise, really good car.

Appreciate the heads up, but woulda been nice if you could have driven the car in the video to reproduce the noise. Five minutes of description could have been summed up in 30 seconds of driving under conditions that would recreate the noise. I would definitely bring it to the dealership.

I keep getting phone calls from the dealership asking to trade in my 16' Forte 1.8l with 121k miles for a current gen Forte. Feel like I got lucky with this car because I rather have no more payments. Wish I could buy a brand new engine and sit on it for awhile

My forte gt line has had this problem it was my sway bar links I have had mine for a year now with about 21k miles I have replaced them and now I have no issues

I have the same problem but mine is definitely coming from the engine bay. I told Kia about it and they said it's normal and that it was a dual plate clutch/transmission that is making the noise. But the noise has seemed to get worse the more I drive it. I have complained to Kia 3 times so far no results. But I will say that people I have talked to, they say their Kia doesn't make any noise. It's good to know not the only sole going through this

Isn't the whole point of warranty is so the owner can fix any issues for free, it's state of art technology with thousands of moving parts...

I have a brand new 2021 Kia Forte GT. Mystery rattles from the dashboard, both doors, and now from the sunroof. The speaker has gone “tinny,” and yesterday I noticed that the leather of the shift is already starting to peel. I had a 2019 Optima with zero issues and loved it. This Forte, though, is crap. Never again.

My 2019 KIA Forte LXS has been great - 4 years this month - no issues. Doing the oil changes at home is the way to go - they don't seem to care at dealership's service centers or independent garages about spilling oil all inside that plastic bottom engine cover - it runs out for the next month... one time they even left the filter too loose 🙄

Lose bolt on the front bottom plastic shield? My last forte had 180,000 miles with a tone of hail damage and cracked windshield. We sold it for $2500.00 and got a great deal on the new one. So far just one noise, a single slight thump sound at the rear moving forward from a day parked in the driveway.

I have the same car and I noticed my car makes a rattling sounds when I accelerate and it sounds like it’s coming from under the car but I took it in and they don’t know what’s wrong with it. Seems to drive rough too when it’s a little colder out and I notice the noise more too.

I was the second owner of a 2014 Kia Forte, at about 71k, had a knocking sound coming from engine, it was just past the 4 year warranty expiration. And the garage that I had my services done, closed. So did not have my oil change receipts. Had to buy a new car. Even after a defect.

this video was literally useless. No example of the sound. No diagnosis of the sound. Just an owner admitting that the noise started at 3000 miles and now at 5000 miles still has same noise. If Kia sees this video, they can deny warranty work, because this has been an ongoing issue. Not being a responsible owner.

Bought a 2017 forte S model 2.0 LU brandnew it now has 49k miles never broke down only been in shop for recall on ignition coils and oil pump and thermostat all fixed for free thank goodness I took it in as soon as I heard about recall first thing. Have driven countless times to Minnesota to Vegas no issues in sever cold -20 🥶 or extreme heat 110 degrees plus great car use synthetic only and make sure to change transmission fluid every 30-40k miles. And of course flush radiator the car will last forever.

Arty, I understand your concern about Civid but I do not understand you not taking the car to the dealer where you bought your Forte. I'm in Québec. I just had an appointment with my dealer for winter tires change and some light brake job. The dealer disinfects even my key fob and placed it in a plastic bag. There was also a big notice in the windshield certifying "This car has been disinfected" when I took possession of the car after the repairs. Everybody wore a mask and the distanciating was respected believe me. Since the car is under warranty you should never never have your car inspected by others and in no case touched by others. Kia is very prompt to make you know any repairs made elsewhere than at their shop can nullify the warranty. After the warranty, do what you want. BTW, I own an "old" 2012 Rio EX. Not one serious problem since the day I bought it. Actually the light brake problem is the biggest issue I had. Please Arty, don't make things complicated for you in the future and since it's a lease, be more than careful. The dreadful day of taking back the car to the dealer is often one of nasty surprises. Be safe my friend.

I purchased my kia forte gt2 in 2021 I have less then 10k miles on the car that twice I had the check engine light come on the first time was a faulty thermostat and in canada you need heat man in winter waited a 2 month now I get the same check engine light heat is fine I look up the code 1st gear will not engage nor will the 3rd gear meaning now my transmission requires major work under warranty but it not like I race or anything It a passenger car with a 201 hp engine seriously I don't get it I never push the car hard if ever

well these cars made in the factory , at the assembly line 1 out of 10 cars made will have a defect in certain area of the car from engine,transmission,suspension, electrical from my understanding

I have a 2021 lo forte gt-line. The steering wheel every time I steer in low speeds below 10mph, sounds sort of like it’s grinding something to steer. But it’s still easy to turn. Also my driver window when I put it down or up without using the automatic feature stops when I put it up or down manually.

brought mine brand new in december 2018 as a 2019 model. No issues. It's a great car. So just take it to the dealer. You can't complain about a problem that you don't want to fix under warranty.

I have a Forte- I noticed a rattling sound. I found that it was the sun visors!!!!! Check those! I found that if I undid them (like unclip them from the top) and then snap them back, that seemed to fix it for me... best of luck.

I recently bought a new 2021 Kia Forte. I got caught flat footed. Old car ready to Die. Limited low to mid level new car inventory on dealer lots. Used cars With Miles on Lots, Too Expensive. /// It is slightly cramped. Two Liter power merely adequate, good mpg though. The 1.8 Liter Corolla was a sled (for the last 45 years). Is probably more reliable. 2.4/2.5 Liter engines are becoming scarce. As a traditionalist, I still don't trust Turbos from original issues of corrosion, bearings, & fracturing from 25 years ago, IDK.

Lol I also have that kinda issue with my Kia Forte 2018 from time to time. It sounds like some safety belt mechanism doing this.

These cars are great cars! Sounds like you didn't read your manual. I guarantee you floored it. Your not suppose to drive hyundai/kia engines above 80kph during the breakin in period. You do realise that's 55mph. They also state do not drive up hills aggressively during breakin period. By the intro video. You like to race your cars. Kia isn't a race car. Slap a gt label on it all you want. A spade is a spade , call it a shovel no difference. Read your manual. Also during break in period of 55k miles you may hear knocking during idle in start up cold conditions. Please please read your manual
