@@ALLw3rk yes you have picked a good truck. The only maintenance I have had to take it to a shop to because it was too big a job for me.. Is the rear wheel bearing replacement. Toyota makes a special jig for that. Enjoy your Tacoma!

I bought my 2015 with 93k a year and a half ago. I change the oil every 4k with the best possible. Love it I want to chrome delete it though

@@Blake_Cherubini I’ve got the “recall” on the frame that’s good up to 12 years from “service date “ , I actually called Toyota a few weeks ago and they confirmed it’s good up until December of this year ( I bought it December of 2009 ).. unfortunately they said they can’t provide me with a loaner car because there just isn’t any available and they use enterprise car rental , I looked online and they weren’t lying there are none available,.. I had a friend who had his Tacoma frame replaced a couple years ago, they provided him with a free loaner and they had his truck for three months , so I’m thinking,… if they’re not paying for a rent a car for me, god only knows how long they would have it ,.. so I told them I’m gonna wait and see if this crazy rent a car shortage ends , I live in the northeast where the roads are salted pretty good, but working as a fire fighter I would pull it into the station and wash it every week and run a sprinkler under it for twenty minutes . If you inquire at the dealership don’t ask about the “recall” on the frame ,.. ask about “ the extended frame warranty “… I was told if you say” recall” they might just dismiss you by saying there is no frame recall on your vehicle.

Surprisingly mine still looks pretty good especially since it’s been a Ohio truck it’s whole life. I wonder how bad the frame has to be to be able to qualify for the frame warranty? It would be super nice to just get a whole new frame to start fresh with haha

@@Blake_Cherubini my friend who had his done said if it wasn’t covered by Toyota it would of costed him $15,000.00 , I’m not sure what they look for to determine if it needs to be replaced ( you might want to check the forums on Tacoma world dot com ). He also said that once you bring it into the dealership to be inspected if they determine it needs to be replaced they take possession of it right then and there and will not allow you to leave the dealership with it (because they would be responsible if you got in an accident),.. I said they can’t do that it’s your truck , he said , “ your right , they can’t keep it, it’s yours, but if you do decide to leave, they will no longer cover it and the frame extended warranty automatically becomes void . Another thing to know is that if they determine it doesn’t need to be replaced , they still keep it for three days, because they spray the frame and it takes a couple days to completely dry ( this may vary dealership to dealership, or state to state , but this was his experience )…. So I guess to sum it all up,… if you bring it in to be inspected , be prepared to possibly not see it for months , they tell you the process takes five days, what they don’t tell you is that they don’t stock the frames on site,.. if there’s a delay in them getting the frame they won’t release the truck back to you while your waiting for that frame to come in .

Honestly didn’t even look at the new ones. No real reason. I love the second gens and they hold their value so well I don’t think I will ever lose as much money as I would buying a brand new truck. The new ones hold value but still depreciate once you drive it off the lot
