So if you’re following me on my Facebook and Instagram accounts you would have noticed that I’ve treated myself to a new boat, I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you guys about it so here is the video to unveil my new pride and joy!
A few weeks ago I had my old seahorse in getting some cracks welded and thought I’d toy with the idea of a new hull.. I went to a few of the local dealers and kicked a few tyres, and later that day had my eyes set on a new 2021 Stacer Outlaw from Phoenix Powersports here in Mackay.
I opted to go the tiller steer model as I really like the simplicity of it and the extra space in a boat this size is always welcome, but one of the first things I noticed was how wide this thing actually is. The plan was to transfer all my electronics (sounder, electric, etc) and the outboard onto the new hull and after doing this I realized I was massively underpowered with the 40hp, so went and had a look at repowering. I ended up getting the hull re rated by Armstrong Maritime Services to a 60hp and jumped straight into a new donk.
First trip out was during glamour weather with Elen and yes she did catch the first fish in the boat… Luke helped me out massively on his days off wiring up the electronics and bringing the hull to life so for the second trip out I took him to chase some
Queen fish in the river.. since then I’ve done numerous trips (with more clips to follow) and I’m really enjoying the fish ability of the new rig!
The Revolution Hull rides like a magic carpet over the short sharp chop we get here in Mackay and it was a real standout feature that had me sold on this model and it sure doesn’t disappoint, the ride in this thing is amazing!!
So without any further delay here’s the video reveal of my new boat! Still really new to it so I’ll no doubt have a few new mods going in over the coming months but I’m always open to suggestions so if anyone has any tips or ideas definitely leave them in the comments as with any questions you may have.
Thanks for all the support with the channel also!!
Much appreciated!!!
Peace ✌🏻

Great video mate. Congratulations on the new rig. It looks great! I’ve recently purchased a Renegade 420 and looking at the same mods you mentioned. I can vouch for the fact that the carpet definitely stinks up my garage! I reckon the Thermolite/EVA floor and underfloor tank would be a huge improvement. I’d suggest you add a couple of drains at the rear of the floor so the deck wash can run into the bilge and out the bung. Looking forward to seeing the mods and lots more fish in future videos!

Enjoyed watching that. I've got a Quintrex 440 renegade with the new Merc big tiller 60hp, wasn't my choice of motor but that's all i could get at the time, love it now. Just a thought, if you want to save weight, i put a 105 amp lithium battery which weighs 13kg for the Motor Guide and a lithium cranking battery at the back which weighs 1.3 kg, it's a motor bike battery, makes a massive difference to the performance of the boat, had them both for about a year, no problems.

Great looking boat. Looking forward to future updates on the mods. I was wondering what your thoughts are regarding tiller steer vs side console and why you opted for tiller?
@Micksgonefishing
@Micksgonefishing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! I’ll keep you all updated.. It’s a personal preference going for the tiller steer, the main reason is that it’s still quite a small boat and I’d like to keep as much of the deck open to add to the fishing space, but secondly less things to go wrong down the track and a more direct connection to the outboard while maneuvering through the skinny shallow stuff in the creeks at low tide..

Previous years run-out Renegade? Comparing a Stacer Outlaw and a Quintrex renegade is not a comparison, since they are the same boat out of the same factory.
@Micksgonefishing
@Micksgonefishing 3 жыл бұрын
With the current availability on boats I don’t think there is such thing as a run out renegade… I chose the Stacer after having good experiences in my previous boats which were Stacers also the fact that the dealer was a lot more accommodating and had the boat I wanted in stock. This isn’t about comparing the 2 as you mention they both come from the same factory…

Nice but far to small for somewhere like Yeppoon where you have to head 80km minimum out to sea before even considering fishing. 120km+ is when you start getting a few legal sized fish. Past 250km out you can get some half decent fish. Past 350km, might even get a pb out there on a really hot bite

If you’re buying new then the main difference is the sticker, that Stacer has more red on the decal so it does go a little bit faster.
