Glad u got comfortable w/ the controls gl at Genesis and the fact that cloud might be the play if forced off of Diddy (sometimes maybe wolf) is interesting to know, very reasonable, hope it goes well if needed.

I use a very similar control scheme with my Rosa, but I jump with Z, and L is still shield. It makes waveland DAC easier to pull off. Z-jump also helps me do peach float cancels and fastfall easier, and Y for grab makes pivot grabbing easy for me too. I love this format of videos. :)

Diddy Up Smash charge hold is frame 1 so you literally need to be frame perfect not to charge it. He's the only character with a frame 1 charge hold but some other characters could still benefit from using this. Charge Hold Frames: 1: Diddy 2: Pikachu, Fox, Mewtwo, The Pits, Charizard, K. Rool, Min Min 3: Falco, Zelda, Wolf, Meta Knight, Rosalina, Mii Brawler, Inkling Anything above 3 is probably easy enough as it is

the only difference between your controls and mine is that I use the L button for shield and the R button for jump. Didn't knew you could use the grab button to do an up smash out of shield, good to know

This is my exact same control scheme but I had different reasons for it lmao. Took tap jump off cause it always just felt awkward doing uptilts and some up Bs with it. I changed L to jump to up B oos faster with ZSS in Smash 4 and changed Y to grab cause it just felt easier to Zair and pivot grab with it that way.

Gavin, Thank you for sharing. For anyone in comments that want to OOS Up Smash with Grab but do not want Grab on the face buttons the L to Grab and Z to Jump is an option.

Tweek set his y button to grab Grab is a macro read as Shield + Attack If you are already pressing one of the two options mentioned above when using grab, the game will only read the other input. This is how grab oos works because you are doing shield + grab (read as attack) He’s pairing this 1 attack frame with the up input to do a smash attack

Optimal Diddy is hard man, some people say Diddy is easy but I just think they mean to pick up, they can't possible mean all this other strange tech he has like popgun-cancels and double tosses, z-drops etc. There's no way.

I have x for grab and y for jump. Does it matter if it is different? Your is the other way around? Does yours have more pros then cons? Or is it the same?
