If there's one thing I love it's hardtails. And there's nothing better than building up a custom bike. Put those two together and sprinkle a little budget in the mix and you end up with my new custom NS Eccentric. A huge thanks to my sponsors FSA Components and NS bikes for providing the frame and components and for The Lost Co. for getting me the rest of the parts I needed to make this thing a reality!

I've had the 9 spd Advent since January and it has been flawless. It has enough range for where I ride so I am content with it. Microshift has just put out the Trail Trigger Pro shifter that comes with the Advent X for the 9 spd version and that will solve the only thing I have issue with with the Advent, shifter ergonomics. I've gotten used to the shifter but it's not my favorite.

Thanks for the vid - I never heard of NSBIKES so I checked them out since I'd like to get a good hard tail for about $1500 USD. I like the Lite 2 bike actually but I'm not sure sure if I'd call them a 'budget' bike, especially after the mods you put on them (which are worth more than my current bike). Anyway my version of a budget friendly bike is a bit more legit for the average person as far as rock bottom value for something that is not junk and that is the Northrock XC27 I just got my 13 year old at Costco for $350. Now that is budget friendly!

I wonder what this bike would cost as a complete build . Maybe $2200 . Nice looking bike Josh . My breezer storm expert budget hardtail was $ 900 a couple years ago . Its a bit of a log weighing in at 34 pounds . The manufacture estimated weight was 28 pounds . Maybe not that light but I did add some budget components that beefed up the weight like a lower end dropper post . Its all fun

Thats strange that u mention longer fork. Unfortunately I think the complete opposite, longer fork means its going to affect the head angle more and the geometry of the bike as it cycles thro the travel. And on top of that a longer forl increase stack height wich means it decrease reach. So if anything a shorter fork will make reach longer. Just my 2 cents. I don't think over forking bikes are the way to go. Either way great bike !! Hope to see more vids !!!

Sram chains and drivetrains are tuned for durability over effenciency. Hence a Sram chain will be louder at the expense of lasting a lot longer than Shimano. Shimano engineers their chains to be the weakest part of the drivetrain as they are intended to be replaced more often. This must be closer to Shimano in that aspect.
