"Am I over complimenting them?" Absolutely not! I completely agree with everything you said. I just got my 16 about a week ago and I have been using it a ton since... I LOVE this tablet. I came from a Cintiq 16, and EVERYTHING is better on the Kamvas except maybe the pen experience (which feels equally great to me). The screen feels smoother/denser, the express keys are WONDERFUL, and the screen is so much clearer than the 1080p of the cintiq 16. I love that I can connect with just the USB-C cable to my M1 Macbook Air (which makes painting anywhere other than a dedicated desk so much easier). If I could change anything it would be to add a loop on the tablet to store the pen like the Cintiq has (Ended up really liking that feature. No more "where did I put the pen?"), and maybe white highlights on the buttons so you can see them better in dim light. But, honestly, beyond that, this thing is amazing. Huion did a great job with this one and it's the tablet I've been waiting for for a long time.

Kalvin, thanks so much for sharing your experience! 😊 Also, superb suggestions! I like the loop feature for the pen too, and it would be awesome to have. And making the buttons stand out in dim light would also be a cool addition. Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one who loved the experience! :))

Interested to hear your mid term review after six months. It seems like the China tablets work great for the first few months and start having driver issues or breaking apart after a while.

@@Minsetti THAT is a GREAT point but keep in mind that Wacom is also a 100% Chinese made product. Maybe they pay their workers more to get better quality assembly workers???

@@ToddDolce But the R&D is made in Japan. The Chinese manufacturers have been reverse engineering Wacom's tech for the last 10 years and they are getting quite good but they haven't perfected their products yet.

@@Minsetti yes....but they are still using the same level of wormanship quality . I know that and I was gifted a wonderful Cintiq 24 Pro for Christmas which I promptly had to return for poor workmanship due to a poorly sealed screen and buttons that stuck. Just really shameful for what they charged for that thing. I was lucky to be able to return it and opted to NOT replace it. What a nightmare and terrible experience. No R&D can remedy poor manufacturing. I can speak to this FIRSTHAND.

This looks like a very nice tablet. Your comments to viewing pictures on various screens, all monitors and screens differ in saturation and colour depth. Mobile phones, cost effective monitors and laptop screens will always change with manufacturers. Honestly, that has always been the same. I have been working with CAD for over 30 years and I always found a software colour balance was needed on different devices.

Just ordered a kamvas 22 plus very excited I don’t think 1080p is a big deal when drawing any artwork looks amazing in 1080p until you literally touch your nose to the screen. But the brightness and Color’s and sharpness of the display make up for it and I still have heard of many professionals who use it so I’m very hopeful I’ll have a great experience!

I appreciate this review. Thanks for going so in depth. I'm 100% certain that you know more about this kind of thing than a newbie like me, but I'm wondering about your comments regarding color shifts on different devices-aren't there ways to calibrate your screens to avoid this problem? I've only recently started learning about color calibration, so I'm not entirely clear on how it works or how it's done across devices, but if you know something about it, maybe a video showing you resolving this issue would help a lot of people (including me).

yeah, but phones can be different than your PC screen. just check the colours on your phone before uploading it.

There aren't many reviewers that discuss the power options in depth. From utilizing the USB C setup versus the HDMI connection, and which provides the better picture quality experience. Also no-one has suggested extension cables either.. all reviews seem to connect to laptop 6 inches away. I know on the 24" 4k model, a reviewer was saying that they weren't getting actual 4k resolution using the HDMI connection setup. Is that the case with this 2.5k? I am using a digital display port to get 2.5k on my monitor. If we need to use the USB C connection setup to get full picture quality and features, what extensions would we need to reach 6 feet away to connect to a desktop tower? Thanks

i have an older kamvas 16 pro version, and it feels amazing, probably one of my best buys all time. I know i would have pay a HUGE amount of money to get something that even felt like a worthwhile upgrade. the only thing i havent done yet is calibrating the screen (just been lazy)

I have had the Kamvas Pro 24 (4k), I absolutely love it but I've felt like sometimes I could go for using a 16 inch, and this looks like something I'd enjoy using and having as a secondary display if I don't feel like using a 24 inch

@@ezpzly Not at all honestly but I like how I can put away the 16, it's not taking up too much desk space (however you can buy an arm for the desk). The desk area is also where I do music production so I need the space clear. I have both tablets, both are amazing and awesome to use. But as far quick and easy, I'm gunna pull out the 16 most of the time.

I bought a Huion Kamvas 22 plus two years ago and never had an issue. Maybe, the only problem is it was not color calibrated out of the box.

I'm looking for another pen and display tablet. My kamvas pro 13 has issues with brushes size and it makes my line appear way on the left of my brush's cursor. Not sure what is the issue and I only had it for 2 years. Though, I'd like to get the pro 16 2.5k, it's just too expensive to get as it's 799$ CAD on amazon Canada. I wish that I could get the slightly bigger one as the 13 pro one has some dead pixels after a few usage. My tablet just won't follow my stylus very well anymore and it happened in the middle of an animation. I'm a student so my kamvas pro 13 tablet was bought before I got in college. I probably need another one very fast. Do you think it has a better stylus precision to follow the cursor on the screen? Edit : My mom got me this tablet. I haven't tested it to its full extent, but I hope it's gonna last me more than 2 years.

I think you miss the point on the ability to use it as a pen tab. Having the ability to give your neck and should a rest is very smart. I work all day on these and even though I love my Huion 22 Plus, it's in the closet due to pain from 12 hour work days. I have gone back to the pen tab. I also have a very good large BenQ monitor so if I want the control and precision, I could use the Tablet Monitor. Then say if I needed a rest or needed to use my higher quality monitor for something, I could easily switch. This reason ALONE is enough for me to be interested.

wow, I love that! Thank you for sharing 😊 I suppose, I always set my monitor at the highest angle possible, so I don't feel the neck/shoulder pains. But I get your meaning, and def agree that that's something we need to take care of as artists. Fantastic feedback!

Can I get any help? I'm looking everywhere but can't get an answer. I have the same tablet but it struggles to detect very-light pressure. Sometimes it'll hold it, other times it just drops it. I tested extensively and it's not my hand, my other tablets do not have this issue. Is there a setting I'm missing? I even go to the troubleshoot option on the app, and I can see the pressure % randomly plummets to zero, even if I'm actually pressing down moderately..

The software is your choice, there aren't any pre-built ones as it's just a display, not a computer of it's own. I like Photoshop and Clip Studio paint, others are also using Krita and others. Hope you find the one that's perfect for you! 😊

Nice review!!! One thing though. How is the "feel"? I really dislike the slick screens. Is there enough friction so that it feels more like pencil on paper???? Is it etched glass???? I hope so since I don't want to have slap some silly screen protector on it that tries to mimic the friction feel.

thanks! 🙏🏻 It's fully laminated screen. It feels not as slippery as the iPad screens (if you've ever had the chance to work with one), but also not as much friction as the "Paperlike" protector, for example. If you haven't had the chance to work with either, then I'd say it's in-between painting on a monitor and paper. I hope this explains my experience at least a little :)

Okay probably a dumb question. As a 'traditional' artist looking to make the leap to digital I have a minimal budget. So when I buy a tablet, that's my budget gone. I have a good phone however (samsung s22Ultra). My question (finaly) is, is this tablet usable solely on my android? So without the use of any pc or laptop?.

16" isn't iPad portable, but it's a whole lot more portable than a 22"+. Like all you need to do is plug your laptop in, and then plug the display into the laptop, and you're set. At 16" you can hold the display. This could be nice if you want to lean back and sketch. Say you want to chill on the couch or the recliner, have your laptop off to the side, and just have your tablet in your lap? Totally a thing you can do with a 16", and not so much with a bigger one. The larger displays are very much a dedicated desktop sort of setup. The 16" you could put away when you're not using it, like in a drawer, and then pull it out and plug in the cable and go when it's time to draw.

Would you say the 13 is a major downgrade in size? Getting either the 13 or the 16 for my son's 10th birthday. I feel like the 13 is big enough for him to get going for a few years maybe? New to pen displays, he has a 10.8 inch S6 Lite and he draws well on it. Am I being cheap by going for the 13 lol? love from Canada :)

Hello, I am about to buy my first tablet but I don’t really know if I should go with the new 16 from 2021, the 13 inch 2.5K or this new 16inch 2.5k? Is there a real huge difference between the 13 and 16 inch? Will that hinder me as a new comer? Should I break the wallet and invest right away in the 16 2.5k?? 🙏 thank you

That’s such a great question! Listen, I really love this tablet, but if it’s about to “break the wallet” then maybe going with a cheaper option is better, especially since you mentioned that you are a beginner. When I was first getting started I had a tiny Wacom tablet with no screen and that was YEARS ago! Still, it helped me learn digital art and with time buy something more expensive. The options you are mentioning are all great and will not hinder your process of going from beginner to intermediate digital artists. Get something in the price range you are comfortable with, grow your skills and then invest into something new. Plus, I’m sure there will be plenty of new and exciting models by then! Hope this helps :)

@@AnnaSok_Art Hello, thank you so much for your answer! I was on a lookout for it to know what to do ahah. I figured out there's not that much of difference between the 13" 2.5k and 16" 2.5K if you account for the stand already inside the 16" package that you don't have to buy and there is a 75£ voucher on amazon right now until the 17th of July. Still that's quite a budget when we start.. even 150£ of difference is big. I was just worried to go for the 13 2.5k and be disappointed with the space when I could have gone full out for the 16 ahah. But as you say all the great artists started even on lower resolution than 1080p and... well.. here you are reviewing on youtube professionally ahah. Thank you for your answer. I'll see what my wallet and motivation tell me ;D keep up the good work

Hey Enio :) if you have a dedicated video card in your PC you will be fine as far as technicals go. As for the cables, I drag mine behind the desk and the plug into pc (now that I have one). If you have a system for cables then it’s no problem :) could get a bit annoying if you don’t plan on leaving this tablet on your desk though. How do you work around it now?

@@AnnaSok_Art Hey there ! Thanks for your reply Anna ! Yes, I have a dedicated video card for the screen. My desk is not the biggest one 🙂 actually, but I was planning on leaving the table on it, perhaps putting it aside, next to the monitor when I'm not using it, so I dont have to un-plug the thing every day... you know. What is your experience with it ? I am really looking forward on getting one. I am currently working with a wacom pen intuous tablet.

@@eniosan do you not like your Wacom? I currently have XP Pen 24” tablet (I did a review on it a while ago) and it works like a beauty with my PC! Takes a lot of space, but as far as wires go it’s all good 😊

@@AnnaSok_Art Yes, I do like my Wacom pen tablet a lot. But since I am building a new pc myself (half way done), I wanted try a pen-display for that one... first I thought of getting a 22 inch display, then a 16 inch one, but now my budget for this pc was exceeded and I am gonna have to wait a little 😞. 😀

I am considering this 16” with 2.5k res. The 22 plus took my table space hugely. It’s the same width of a 24” Sleek Dell monitor. And it is around 3.5kg to carry around. Despite the cons, Huion had improve my productivity into greater level. Speaking this of from an over 10 years Wacom pen tablet user.

Glad it helped 😊 Huion and XP Pen are so close together when it comes to specs and quality in general. The real debate should be between certain kinds of models that you like! Hope that’s not too confusing:))

Hello ! At the moment there are several interesting promotions and I wonder which tablet to choose between the innovator 16 / artist pro 16 / kamvas pro 16 2.5k. I can go up to 600€ max so it's not a problem for these 3 models. I can't decide!? I have a regular use for digital painting and animation.

Yes you would need to purchase Adobe products or similar like Clip Studio Paint. Also be aware that this is just a pen display and you still need a desktop or laptop to run your programs.

Have you tried a SonarPen for mobile devices? Someone told me they are affordable, battery free (which includes plugging it to a headphone jack), and the nibs (gold for Android, silver for IOs Apple). Give it a try when there is an opportunity. 😊 😃 😀 😄 😁

5:52. You wouldn't buy a pen display to use it as a pen tablet. HOWEVER! There may be times when you would like to use a tablet over a display (want a bigger screen, tired of looking down and/or raising your hand, work doesn't require seeing your hand, etc), and so it's a nice feature to have, but obviously it's not 'why' you buy it. It's just saying, you won't need a pen display AND a tablet, if you still like using tablets for something.

what fucking software should one use, I expected this thing to be plug and play but holy fuck this thing pisses me off. I work in fucking IT but i have no interest in drawing whatsoever. Bought this for my gf. after installing the driver i have no clue what to do, do you buy drawing software and launch it from the huion driver app? I have no fucking clue.

There is no such thing as an honest review if the company sent you the item for free. Its hard to find an actual honest review video of who purchased the item with their own money.

Not really... The fact that you get it for free actually helps you to stay objective if you compare it to other tablets you got for free. You arent biased by the price it cost you.

You can list cons about it but you are essentially selling the product so the company will continue to sponsor you bozo.

Ooo a spicy debate in the comments, love it! 😍 Just to clarify something, when your video is “sponsored” you basically have to say good things about a product, because they are paying you money to do so. But, when you get a “free product” the video is NOT “sponsored” and the company has no creative say in what goes into your content or your feedback on it. But please do continue talking about it, because it’s definitely an important thing to understand for all buyers out there!!
