Awesome video as always. Seriously you kill it. I have the Cali 76 stacked and it’s such a great pedal. My first compressor actually and last lol. Looking forward to trying this drive because it seems to be making its way onto a lot of boards. Strong STP vibes in the original track!

What you’ve been pointed out about the feel under the fingers and the seemless integration between the pedal and the amp is excactly what i love about the pedal and what it makes in my opinion addictive and unrivaled. The origin effects stuff (revivaldrive, revivaltrem, Magma 57, Cali76, etc.) makes every medicore tubeamp sound like a Million bucks

You said it...I have that same 'peeve'...where you hear 2 separate sounds... the pedal 'on top' of the amp in lieu of it meshing with the amp. When I hear that, the pedal comes off the board in under 15 secs. I went to the compact after having the big boy and ended up going back to the full size custom as I like messing with bright caps and such. Another great video👍

@@0megalul309 I realize he’s running through a tube amp already but like he said a lot of drive pedals it’s like a blanket over your base sound this sounds like natural tube amp breakup is what I’m meaning. I’d have never known this was a pedal if someone told me it was their amps overdrive channel.

Have you had a chance to try the Friedman pedals like the Dirty Shirley? The Revival is expensive so not sure I want to buy one unless it's head and shoulders above pedals like the BE OD and Dirty Shirley.

What’s the main difference between this one and the hot rod version? …or should I just get the dual version which would cover all the tones I’m assuming?

I have both. They are voiced differently (confirmed by Origin). You can't replicate the tones of one on the other. If I had to have just one, I'd go for the RD. The hotrod is awesome but is not as versatile as the RD - it's much more aggressively voiced. The bigbox is not the same as an RD compact + RD hotrod compact - it's more like a much more complex RD compact with switching options.

I'd go with the regular one personally. Just a bit more versatile and it takes a boost pedal really well if you're looking for more gain. Thanks for checking out the video!

@@ZachWish Thank you! Followup: Would your answer change if you already have edge of breakup/ low gain tones covered on the board? Currently running a Tumnus deluxe for most medium gain stuff, and it's a solid pedal, but there are just some things it misses the target for me on. Tones I love are things like Able baker Fox, Engine Down, Burning Airlines, Medications, etc. Thanks and cheers!
