just received mine yesterday. About 30 minutes to put it together which was good. No problems. Haven't ridden it yet since battery was charging. Biggest problem for me is going to be getting it in and out of the car/truck.

Hi David… I really enjoyed your review and taking us along for the ride. My wife has a Nakto, and I have an Ancheer. They are budget friendly and it was our entry into the electric bike world. We enjoy them greatly. Plus it helps us get back in shape after catching pneumonia covid. I was wondering now that you are venturing into the electric bike world, what accessories would you recommend. I already know that one is the saddle bags from your last video, and two is a GoPro. If you have any other suggestions please do a video on neat gadgets that you get to test out that makes riding more fun, or more safe. By the way your little ones are adorable. I miss my kids being that age. Now they’re teenagers ugh😊😅😂. Look forward to your next videos…

I got the Royal back in July. It’s a pretty good bike. It’s a fat tire and goes up to 42km/h (26 miles/hour) but the range drops dramatically when you use the full power, whether you use the throttle or pedal assist. I give it a solid 7 out of 10.

Yeah, the range estimates they give are clearly in eco mode and pedal assist set to low. Personally, I’m usually bombing these bikes on throttle only most of the time! They’re just so damn fun that way!!!

Look up flat out, area13 did a video on it. I have the Engine Pro, it’s by far the best eBike I’ve ever owned (my forth eBike…) I’ve changed the handlebars for BMX bars and stem. Cruise control is excellent, regenerative braking is great on long downhills. Great on hills, off road, takes curbs no problem. It’s pretty easy to do a puncture repair on rear wheel without removing the wheel, how bad was the old inner tube leak?

Good review although you have the handlebars the wrong way round, also tyres she be pumped up to no more than 20psi. And recommend checking all bolts as mine had a few that were quite loose.

the idea of the handlebar pointing slightly forward is that taller people, who also have longer arms, automatically gain more arm's length by raising the saddle which shifts backwards again due to the direction of the seat post. Correct, ... by raising the saddle, the distance between saddle and handlebars increases.

No throttle off switch on this one. If you need to switch it off though for regulations or laws, you could inline a switch on the cable pretty easily

@@Gunner11763 I wouldn't worry too much about the throttle. As long as you are being relatively sensible and not riding like a maniac then there won't be any cause for the police to pull you over. I am sure in the settings there is a disengage the throttle setting. Even if there isn't, just because you have it doesn't mean you have to use it.

So I want to pick this bike up for myself but i am on the fence big time because engwe seems to cheap out on the things that matter for SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE witch is their TIRES and BRAKES I saw several reviews for their Cafe racer style ebike I think it's the m20 and I almost shit myself when I saw they put those cheap mechanical Filal brand brakes on a Cafe rider style e bike big no no. I have saw several of reviews for their bikes where people are saying that the tires go out within the first ride witch is crazy, and this video review proves it to be true witch is not good. So idk 🤷‍♂️ kinda on the fence

A lot of people put their stems on that way, especially shorter people so they can reach the handle bars easier. The problem with that though is they fold to the left front side of the bike. So if you fold the bike the folded down stem and handle bars well be sandwiched between both halves of the frame and the bike won't fold in completely versus the stem and handle bars folding to the right side and not interfering with the bike. I replaced the giraffe stem and handle bar with Davidbrandnew's turtleneck FX folding stem and a BMX handlebar. Looks much better than feels more stable. 26" handlebar vs 22" OEM bars.

This bike is definitely a liability issue. US ebike laws vary from state to state but there's general rules for them. Class 1 - 20mph with pedal assist no throttle. Class 2 - 20mph with a throttle Class 3 - 28mph pedal assist. Most states say class 3 cannot have a throttle. Ebikes motors must also have electric motor of less than 750 watts that provides propulsion assistance. If the bike has a throttle (class 2) most states don't allow them on bike paths where class 1 and 3 are allowed. If the bike has a throttle and/or a more powerful motor than it may be considered an electric moped and require a license and insurance. Check local laws. I would also be careful with that bike because the disc break rotors are getting dangerously close to being to small (160mm). For comparison the Cannondale Tesoro Neo which ways around 50lbs has 203mm rotors.

To be honest, I don't like this company. I purchased the same model one year ago, which had a 13 AH battery and a different display that didn't show the accurate percentage of battery. The display always showed a high level between 50% and 100%, and dropped drastically when the battery level was below 50%. This made it difficult for me to estimate the real battery level. Additionally, their customer service is very poor. When my moving company broke the display, I contacted them to get a replacement, but I never received the package. I have been waiting for over 6 months! Overall, the basic specs of the ebike may be great, but it fails to satisfy me.

Sounds like you received the older version of the Engine Pro. I ordered the upgraded version. I noticed on many reviews that there were 2 different display versions. I wanted the full color display so I contacted their customer service told them I wanted the newer colored display. They said send them my order number and they will make sure to send the upgraded model.

Thanks for the review. This bike is very very very similar to my Lectric ebike and that bike is only $900. The differences are not worth the $700 extra dollars.

Hi Cory, now i have checked the $900 Lectric ebike you were talking about i believe it's the Step-Thru 2.0? only one for that price on their website, and although they do look similar in a way ? they are not even close to the same specs, there is a reason why the EngWe Engine Pro is $700 more expensive. Better Motor, Better Battery, Better Brakes, so it adds up, i found your comment very interesting so i had to look it up. no shade on your comment your ebike is a very nice bike. but it's not "very very very" similar, maybe a bit lookwise? have a great day! :)

WARNING!!! ENGWE charge extortionate prices for spares! I need the cable that goes from the brake that cuts of the motor . A similar one from china is sold on ebay for about 6 euros including postage to the UK. Engwe want 80 euros !! I'm disgusted, angry and disappointed that Engwe seem to be taking advantage and that this constitutes terrible customer support. It's a shame because the bike is good but now I'm very concerned about their spares prices for any future problems. I've written to them pointing out it's not a Rolls Royce so why charge R.R. prices!?

All engwe-low quality bikes. I bought engine pro-black upgrated version, some bolts is too long, should cut them. Some small wrong shape bolts was changed. Some bolts was not tighted from factory-made that. Paint is not from povder done-it's cheapest painted from airpistol-easy to scratch. Skin is not straight sewed on bike saddle. Welding on aluminium frame is not so beautiful and accurated, as machine welding. The buttons and gear numbers without backlight, you can see nothing at night driving. Charging port is 0,5 ampers, you can't charge your phone. Rubber plug on charging port is not so soft, and can't close hole hermetically. No hermetisation gasket on folding place on the frame, water comes in slowly on rain. Handle to lift up bike is too short for small hand, and no balance, when you lift it up. There is much problems on engwe bikes. What about relable electronics, I don't know, but I saw negative comments on amazon about engine pro controller. There is weak frame place on back suspension fork-very thin(where back fender bolt is screwed in)-can broke after some years. Of cource same bike with ideal quality could not costs 1100€, it should be cost around 3000€ p.s. and ignition key place without any protection, water coming in while driving over puddle.

This is not a well made bike. Within two weeks of delivery suspension bolts undid themselves. Then the battery cut-out wire failed and now the socket for charging in the battery has come loose because of shoddy manufacturing. The nut on the back of the socket is slightly too big so a bit of glue was used to hold it! Terrible! AVOID!

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzfaq.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

And the friend was surprised I would order it when she had never suggested she wanted anything but the pedal bike she had. She has now ridden the bike two times and gives it a 10 and says it is very fun. We have some hills in our town that are very challenging to climb on a typical bike. But tonight she went up with the pedal assist and loved it. I was way behind on my standard bike, huffing and puffing. Now she is no longer lagging behind me. This thing is powerful enough that a person could go around town without any pedaling. She likes to get some exercise so on flat ground she hits the red button to turn off pedal assist and only uses the twist throttle when she's in a tough spot. The bike looks good. It is really a very nice bike for the friend. Now for me, when I get an electric bike, I'm twice her size and will be looking for a bigger watt motor and battery. But this one is just wonderful for my friend. I am happy with this purchase.
