Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band from Victoria, British Columbia. Husband and wife duo guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante established Spiritbox in 2017. The band's full lineup comprises LaPlante and Stringer and drummer Zev Rose. The band's metal style is difficult to pigeonhole into a specific metal music genre and displays an array of styles that draw from a variety of influences and incorporate electronic elements.
Dissatisfaction caused LaPlante and Stringer to leave their former band, Iwrestledabearonce, and they started Spiritbox, seeking artistic freedom. They released a debut extended play, Spiritbox (2017), followed by a second EP, Singles Collection (2019) with an expanded lineup. Rather than touring, Spiritbox initially developed an approach to fanbase building focused on the Internet and introduced their music through acclaimed music videos. The band began touring in 2020, and continued to gain popularity with several singles that reached the Billboard charts before releasing their debut album Eternal Blue (2021), which entered the US Billboard 200 at number 13. Their music is currently released through their label, Pale Chord, via a partnership with Rise Records. [Wikipedia]

Great reaction! I believe the backing vocals just past halfway are by Josh Gilbert, the band’s bassist (not necessarily a huge surprise, as he’s well known for his excellent clean vocals from Spiritbox’s live gigs and also from his previous band, As I Lay Dying), but also Mike Stringer - I think this is the first time we’ve heard him sing. And I THINK Courtney’s dress is a white version of the black one she wears (though that one adds gloves) in the video for the immediately-preceding track on the EP, Jaded. It’s also great how the next EP track, Angel Eyes, is clearly starting up at the end of this one. 👏🏻👍🏻

my wife and i saw them for the first time on 9/19 in NH opening for Shinedown. we had only heard a song or two of theirs. they quickly became one of our favorite bands. Their song styles are all ove the place, which i really like. They are a genre all their own.

Favorite off the EP. And I don't think Zev or Josh did ANY recording of their instruments on this. Josh did sing (both Mike and Josh sing on that breakdown chorus). But Mike still records all the instruments, though Zev & Josh get input.
