I had decided to completely redesign my room to make it more functional, and after a lot of hard work, here it is! In this video I show you around the new room, and explain how everything is setup, mounted, and connected. Tell me what you think!

Cover the LED strip with a strip of regular thin white printing paper to diffuse the light. Also I think Home Depot sells LED light channels with a diffusion layer.

Finally! A video with a 98" countertop! Been thinking about getting the long desk with those drawers but am worried about sag. It seems like you had to put a support bar in the middle? Was that necessary? If it sags, I may just have to get something like standing desk legs for more central support.

Well, I didn’t plan ahead and ended up having to stand on my desk to install those shelves. So even with the support leg there is a little bit of sag, but you cant even tell unless you get on your knees and look down the length of the desktop.

It is a DxRacer OH/RV001. It’s not a perfect chair, but it’s pretty good. But they don’t make that exact model anymore as far as I know. I just got a DxRacer RAA106 and it looks really similar, but the arm rests are smaller :/. Thanks for the comment! 👍

Did you fix the desktop to the Alex drawers somehow? I was planning to build something similar and am afraid that the desktop might slip around but also don't want to use elbow connectors or screws in general

I notice you have the mouse that Five Below sells (second PC) honestly I think it feels extremely cheap and it feels like itll break if you use it too much. I use to have a G502 but I have a DeathAdder (white) coming in, maybe ill make a TV area in my room and use the Five Below mouse for the xbox, I also ordered a nice 60% brown switch keyboard so I'll use my G513 with the Xbox aswell. Awesome setup btw, when I move out someday maybe my setup will look as cool as this

Do you still use the ktrio mouse pad? If you do does it get dirty very easily because mines already dirty after 2 weeks. You can’t really see it just the sensitivity feels slower

I do not. They are just resting on top. But with the desk against the back wall, it doesn’t move or go anywhere.

You could probably get by without it if you really wanted to.. I got by just fine with no leg on my old 74” desk. But with that leg the desk can support almost anything.

The problem I run into is that I have led strip lights on the back of my tv and if I put other led lights for the entertainment center my remote messes with the lights. Anytime I touch the tv volume the other lights start flashing changing colors. I even had it mess up my tv inputs too

The floodlights are controlled with a phone app, I can change them all at once or set each one individually. The led strips each have a remote and I have to set each strip one at a time. So it gets the job done, but it is not as nice as an expensive lighting setup that can all be controlled from one app.

Im not sure. In my experience it seems like black walls isolate each light, and white walls blend all the lights together. Honestly just check out setups on instagram to get ideas. 👍

I don’t know how many hours, But I had a totally different room in mind when I started, but as I progressed I kept changing my plan, and kept having to go back to the store, and order stuff online, and it all ended up taking me 2 months. But if I had planned better, I could’ve probably done it in a day or two. The thing that took the longest was cable management.

I posted a picture of it for you on my instagram @mattstechandvlogs It isn’t a solid wood desktop though, so there is particle board inside. And my desktop came with a flat end piece that I could use to make the cut side look nice, but I don’t know how to put it on and make it look nice, so I just put that side against the wall.

I got the paint from Lowes. It’s Sherwin Williams Peppercorn. The color code is HGSW1492 . I don’t know about the carpet, it came with the house.
