My New Greenhouse: Introducing & Constructing

This is kinda long. The first part is my introduction of the greenhouse. The rest of it documents the construction of the greenhouse. This isn't really a "how-to", but it would probably be a good assistance if you are building one. The kit was purchased at Harbor Freight.
This video has been helpful to many in constructing the 6' x 8' Kit Greenhouse sold by Harbor Freight. ( One Stop Gardens - Item#69714 ). I have no affiliation with Harbor Freight. This is just my experience putting their product together.

Out of all the “harbor freight greenhouse install videos” , this one goes into the very specific detail as well as SHOW how the pieces are supposed to be screwed together. Your video sir is the best one. KUDOS. 👏🏾

Thank you for putting this video together. It helped tremendously to be able to see the orientation of the various pieces as the went together. It was a lifesaver for me. I went ahead and added Teks #12 x 3/4" corrugated roofing screws to all the panels to help with wind loads. 4 on each panel and those things aren't coming off at all.

Blake, I have watched several Harbor Freight 6x8 video's and yours was the biggest help. You saved me a lot of time and effort with these instructions. I probably would have still been trying to figure out the instructions without the video but we (my wife and I) got it together in an afternoon. Had the laptop in the garden watching your video step by step. Started at 3pm and finished at 7 pm. Well done! Thanks.

My Husband and I put the frame together in our garage today. We kept coming back to this video at different stages. Thanks for making it so clear and detailed. All we have left is setting it on the foundation and putting in the panels. Good Job!

I am so incredibly thankful for you having made this video. I accepted the challenge of putting this together alone for my dad, thinking it would be no problem. Boy was I wrong!!! Thanks for making this video. I received this little greenhouse for my birthday last year and due to current events we were not able to put it up right away. It was in storage all winter but when we finally pulled it out yesterday the instructions were destroyed :( I found your video and my husband was able to put it together :) He does much better with watching and doing than reading poorly constructed manuals anyway. So Thank You.. even 2 years after the fact your video is helping people :)

Fab video. I bought a greenhouse second hand that was already dismantled and managed to piece it all together following what you did here. Who would have guessed you had to slide the window in along the top. Thanks for the attention to detail as well - amazingly my greenhouse is a different brand but exactly the same construction.

Can't wait to assemble my HF 6x8 Greenhouse with your video on the laptop! I missed the part of how you anchored it to the treated wood foundation/frame. I saw your son pounding in a long piece of rebar, but then what? I love the idea of watching a father and son working together! Warms the heart!

Best video to see before assembling 6x8 Harbor Freight greenhouse. Watched it several times before and during our project. Four hands help, get it square by all means. Caveat...never leave door open during wind....nuf said. Love it.

Julie Dever I'm going to do a "How's it holding up" type video soon. Last night in our high winds I had to put a bungee on the door because the wind kept blowing it open. I have two small ceramic heaters in there so I had to make sure the doors stayed shut to keep the heat in.

My dad, hubby and I were putting this together yesterday and could hardly make heads or tails of the instructions...plus, we did what you did with the roof and put the beams on after putting the main brace on. The door confused us, but now that I've seen this video, I've got a good idea how it goes together!

That video was more help than you can imagine, thank you, thank you, thank you. I just installed the top vent windows and looked at your video for perhaps the 10th time. It was most helpful. The written instructions were not bad but a few times I felt like I was assembling a Chinese puzzle. I'm gonna begin installing the plastic siding this afternoon if the wind quits blowing. Thanks for your time and sharing of this video. I bought this a few months ago and yesterday I started it to assemble it and just as others, I got frustrated with the lack of pictures in the instructions by Harbor Freight. I made a tactical stop to Google/KZfaq this and your video gave me some light to finish the project (the door among other little things). Thank you!

I worked with plans for along time and never even got the base down. i used your video step by step and i now have a greenhouse. it would NOT have ever happened without you step by step. Harbor Freight should be pay you a royalty for each greenhouse they sell because NO ONE could put it together with the instructions included. Thank again

Your video was so helpful in assembling this Greenhouse. I agree with others that the instructions were not made for the DIYer. Luckily I have a BIL who can build things so he assembled most of it with me coming in to watch video and report back to him if he did it correctly. Unfortunately I am not mechanically inclined so he did most of the work....but THANK YOU..THANK YOU.

This video is incredibly helpful. I had read everything I could find online about the HF 6 x 8, and put 70% of it together today by myself, but this video would have be SO helpful if I'd only seen it last night. As it is, it will save me time and annoyance tomorrow when I am building the windows and doors. Thank you for making this and posting it.

thank you for the awesome tutorial, I did not think it was to long , it's was just right it took us 2 hour's after we opened the box, we still have to put the panels is but that's it . PS: it my first green house ever I always wonted one, and we did make the bottom frame just like yours because I'm very tall (5.10 1/2). I will silicone the panels in do because its very windy in Kansas.

Regarding framing the base here's what I did: (4) 4x4x8 cut (2) to 75" and cut (2) to 911/2" assembled as DaddyKirby shows. I added 2x10" for extra height on top of the 4x4's and was glad we did as I'm 5'8' and feel just setting the frame on the ground or even on the 4x4's would have been too low. I would also like to thank DaddyKirb's for a great video, with my iPhone on my work table to guide us, total assembly was about 4hrs.

Hi! I'm about to build mine but stumped with making a base. Mind sharing how you attacked the additional 2x10 to the base? Then is the whole base just "buried" in the ground a little or does it need extra/special anchors ? Tia

Video helped a lot saved me from making a lot of mistakes and headaches which I would have had without this frame took me about 5 hours with a helper to hold things up and screw some nuts and bolts! The directions remind me of LEGO directions diagrams and numbers not much more lucky I have some experience with such, not as bad as some people make this seem with a little bit of patience and this video you’ll be golden! Thankyou
