My new Homemade Power Hammer!

3 жыл бұрынA couple people had asked about the new power hammer, so here's just a basic overview of how it works. Like I say in the video, If there's something I left out that you're curious about, just let me know in the comments, and I'll try to tell you something interesting and/or useful.

I would love to hear how you made,, and maybe get a better look at your spring. Looks really good man!

Thanks! The spring is actually just a bar of 5160 I let air cool. It's still working a year later, but it's definitely deformed a bit. The head has started to sag pretty badly at rest. I've been thinking about taking it apart to harden and heat treat, maybe I should do a video on it when I do.

very crafty build .love the railroad tie plates for mass betting u have 50 lbs of welding rod in this build congrats job well done

I’ve tried the belts and they just stretched way to much ,if you take the crank pin to 2” CC you’d find it will run way smoother If it’s not a tire hammer it’s a pneumatic from now on for me

Hhm, well time will tell how the belts hold up, but I've had it put together for over six months now, and they've performed without a hitch so far
