If anyone else was curious about if "algorithms were named after Mohammed Algorithm", that's sort of true! It's named after Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi (who also was the origin of the term algebra). A Latin translation of one of his works was called "Algoritmi de numero Indorum" (in English "Al-Khwarizmi on the Hindu Art of Reckoning"), leading to algorithm as we know it today!
