hi everyone!!! finally, FINALLY, my new mane 8 has arrived!!!!
i've had this group for nearly 5 years now and it was time they got an update. and to commemorate, i wanted to do a big meaty speedpaint like the good ol times!!!!!!

but basically tl;dr
some parents have switched around (i no longer have rarishy in my next gen and instead rarity is with blueblood and fluttershy is with trouble shoes & twilight and applejack are now single mothers instead of being married to moondancer and coloratura respectively) - due to that, an additional character has been added alongside heartthrob (a later addition that became part of the squad due to dating darling), port-o-bella (aka bel).
many of the designs have changed either only slightly or significantly - florina no longer exists and has been replaced entirely by rose gold, but some of her spirit remains in the accessories i've given rose. all of them (except heartthrob) have had their cutie marks redesigned to better fit their personalities and updated special talents.
basically i've just become a better designer and i'm really proud of the group i've made!! i think they've retained their feel while looking so so much better now and that's something that's important to me :-)
