Thanks Marc ! I switched my kamoer pump from pull to push and no more bubbles ! I was worried about there being pressure in housing but it's so minimal and no leaks. Appreciate the info you gave me ! I was so frustrated with all the bubbles that I was about to sell the thing.

Absolutely love your Channel and the passion you put into it. Just finished my sump for my 380 gal tank and its so nice to get more ideas on how to clean up all the ugly wires and cables.

Gotta say that filter sock box you did was pretty slick. I was going to go with colored PVC on my newest build... but at the last minute my cheapness gene popped in. Figured $15 for a 4' section of PVC, or $2 for a 10' piece... ignore how much I spent on the tank to date I probably saved $100 on pipe alone :D

Love it - Hope people start placing orders for you to make them sumps now - after that i am sure they will ;) It is just so practical and immaculate and I love the sock box - I don't know why these days just about every sump seems to come with a sock box especially when the majority don't replace / clean their socks every 3-4 days. A lot of people (like me) don't want to use socks (except for Lanthanum Cl) and many others would rather use filter sponge. So well done - so professional ;)

mark, a suggestion, since you've got the trident on the corner of your sump, you should put two small little vertical walls so it's less likely to get bumped into the sump.

Marc, put a little bit of dielectric grease into the connection of the trident to prevent it from rusting. Makes a huge difference.

Question regarding the filter sock setup. I know you use it sparingly and for short periods of time, but with the sock section taking so much water, would there be a problem once the sock starts clogging and less water passes through? Both emergency drains go to that section. The container has a lid, so I’m just curious where the water would go if it begins to back up?

That way you can cut it off and send water to the filter box without disturbing the fine adjustment of the gate valve? Really nice set up , I enjoy watching your videos. I have a question for you; How long does the silicone last on these tanks ? No wone seems to want to answer... Is clear better than black? I've been a reefer since 92 lol If you wanna read my set up : My tank is a lab type set up 180gl Marineland with 70gl custom sump. Acro dominant/acan/zooz Mixed reef with 10 fish. 3x Kessil a360x/controller with 4x t5 lighting. My custom sump is very different. I dose Nopox so I have no Fuge and I've been dosing bubbles for years, so no baffles. 2 return pumps 4 constant drains, no emergency drains. 4x7 inch socks in two separate compartments. Tunze 9430 skimmer in a large 50gl center compartment. with 2 WAV pumps in the sump creating a storm of flow at 100% power. the tank is in the basement so I don't care about the noise. (Kind of loosing my hearing anyway lol.) My sump is very turbulent water so it's always clean. I use to have the Tunze calcium reactor but I went back to the balling method. Better growth and color Imo. And I also dose Kalk to keep my ph nice and high. Parameters : I got a lot of time on my hands /an annoying wife lol. KH 11.2 to 11.5 (AF test every day) CA 460 to 465 (Salifert - AF test once a week) Mg 1410 (AF test once a week) No3 1 (AF test once a week) Po4 0 (tested every other day with the Hanna Phosphorus ULR it reads in parts per billion) STR 22 (Salifert tested twice a week) K 420 (Salifert tested twice a week) PH 8.3 /night to around 8.5 /day (monitored by 2 blue plastic Ph probes on my Apex and 1 Glass Ph probe on my Tunze 7000 smart controller) No need for heaters but I do have a chiller hooked up at 77° I do 1X30gl water change every sunday. Marc quick question. The vectra pump you plumbed it externally. I was just wondering why you went that route instead of just plumbing it internally since the return section is so big? It just seemed like that would be a nice place for new toys to fit. Great job. It is so nice looking at things when they are so clean and well planned.

I would be interested in a video showing your whole system, filtration, dosers, lighting, reactors, skimmer, the whole shebang.I’m setting up my reef system with a 540g display and 100g sump. I want to avoid water changes as much as possible, to keep the system stable.

oh I had a anenome question, you have a georgeous nem tank. i did an oopsie... i found a med flame BTA at a wicked price so i jumped on it, impulse buy yes it was. in my main 50g is currently housing a tube nem. after looking up nem comparability I realised oh oh, I dont dare try 2 different nems in a small tank. so now the FBTA is in my 25g qt. hes got hydras on him but if you know or have tried to put a bta with a tube nem and had success as if possible I'd like to get him outta qt and into main display or I leave him in 25 & get a 10g qt... I really dont have the ti e for more tanks tho. thanks for any help or advice.

Awesome.. Wish I lived near u or visa versa. I designed my sump using a 40 breeder. Came out pretty clean with the glass baffles which I had my hardware cut for me. My only issue is my two returns house once inch drains left and right. Apparently there way to small to handle the new ecotech Vectra m2. So I have to calibrate it per ecotech. Reason right now using jebao DCT8000 which failed 3xs. Fortunately I am home healing up from emergency surgery. Even after removing and cleaning with vinegar seems it's destined to fail again. Already have the return plumbing glued just have to put it in place. ? Are the Vectra easy to calibrate as everyone says. Another issue I had to add another 15 lbs of live sand which is causing brown algae again on my Rick scape,is that normal. Seems to be a silicate issue so I installed a high rejection silicate to membrane along with an additional extra DI cartridge. Happy Reefing 😎
