Back in like 2013-2014 maybe even slightly newer I don't remember when but there was a point when all phone controllers that came out were wireless I don't ever remember one having a micro USB plug.

Yeah but they were known for being terrible, charging them was always a hassle, connectivity was spotty and after a certain amount of time the comparability became terrible as the phones Bluetooth chips got better but the controller you had obviously would have the older chip set

I personally wouldn't want a wireless controller. Especially for game streaming it just adds extra latency for something that you could plug in since it's right there lol

@@thatdudeinmaroon depending upon what kind of game streaming you're talking about there are some controllers that actually have Wi-Fi built into them so they can talk directly to the server reducing latency.

I was very disappointed with the Galileo. Despite assurances it would work with cases, I tried two phones with cases and neither worked with it. Even after removing that rubber next to the usb c connector.

I had to manually mod another controller so it would fit with my case. Most of these have issues with new camera bumps.

After several years of this, I've just come to accept that unless the controller is specifically designed for that case and phone combo it's just not gonna work. That said the G8 is fantastic. And I actually prefer it over my razer kishi v2

The predecessor to this the X3 uses micro switches too. Comes with the same accessories this one does, has a cooler attached and it's wired. It just doesn't have hall effect tech in it, no RGB and no anti friction rings.

I'm fine with wireless. Most USB C controller have the port on the right side which sucks for my Z Fold5. The GameSir X2 has it on the left but its not a very comfortable grip. This X4 also wouldn't work with my phone because of the mounting system.

i literally just bought a GameSir X2 , bluetooth version today. To use with my Fold 5. With it being BT it doesn't have the USB port like the regular X2 does. So i can place it in the controller how i want. in this case, the screen flush with the lower side of the controller. It's perfect.

I prefer the junglecat for my phone. It's a thick boy after modifications so I have a railed clamp for it.. I prefer a Bluetooth connection over usb-c anyway

Taki do you have controller recommendation for fitting the Win Mini? Btw the thumb caps that come with the Game Sir X2 Pro fit the Mini sticks well. Even better if you peel the original tops off. In the end vita caps or switch replacement caps can be used to replace the originals. Vita is a tight fit. Game sir is way easier to fit though if in the middle of gameplay.

No, the magnets will not keep the phone secure in vertical mode. You'd need another controller shown at the beginning.

I believe these 2 controllers connect via their own WIFI signal. I tried playing on my mobile with them dettached and held them like joycons and it works fine

Yeah but the Atom is a clone of a bunch of other Chinese controllers like this. TB just brought the form factor over to the US officially. Plus GS already had a controller that was wireless that was basically like this called the G6 where it was more focused on the left joystick side. This one can essentially do that too if you just want to use one side.
